Bayer + Monsanto = More Pesticides in our food to come!
Germany’s Bayer just bought Monsanto for $57 Billion. Bayer the “Science for a better Life” folks, better known for Bayer Aspirin, Alka-Seltzer, and other pharmaceutical products also happens to be one of the largest suppliers of pesticides. Their merger is stated as follows by Monsanto Chairman Hugh Grant “We believe that this combination best positions us to deliver a wide set of solutions to meet growers needs on a truly global scale regardless of their size.” Companies are looking for ways to grab larger shares of the emerging field of proprietary genetically engineered seeds. They say these seeds will be genetically engineered to withstand crop protecting chemicals. Chemicals that protect plants against insect, diseases, and whatever attacks the plants.
What this means to us is the reality that Bayer’s pesticides will end up in various seeds from food to animal products.
If you think Round Up is bad, then wait till you see many of Bayer’s pesticides in our food, in flowers, trees, lawns. This is only the beginning since Monsanto got away with adding RoundUp and other pesticides and have pushed thru congress laws that protect them, that they can now do the same to any chemical they choose!
They will, of course, say that it is all safe and has been thoroughly researched and again proven safe. They will say that the science is behind them in this and that we are crazy.
If they had their way, it would have ended up in Certified Organic products. It already is found in Natural products (after all how more natural are seeds?).
I would also like to point out that they like to refer to “studies” done on GMO seeds. Recently, it was found that Big Sugar, many years ago, funded a study which said it is not the sugar that’s bad but the fats that are bad. It is beside the point that they paid and told the folks that did the study, what to find. Scientists are just recently realizing that this was wrong and that it is indeed sugar that is bad. Especially GEO high fructose and super high fructose that is bad for you.
You will see that down the road; we will find that GEO food (not all GMO’s are bad, only GEO foods are bad ), will have been found to be dangerous for not just humans, but insects, bees, animals, trees, everything is being affected by these GEO foods.
To properly study the effects of GEO foods, the studies need to go for several generations to see how it affects their children and folks.
GEO seeds have the potential to save humankind if applied properly. They can make GEO safe by not adding pesticides into the genes, and instead make the seeds better by using genes that say allows a plant to use less water, or to grow under adverse conditions like high heat. Plants can be Genetically Engineered to provide better nutrition, to grow faster or to produce more, without the addition of pesticides or any other products. These companies want to sell more of their products.
It is evident that they are looking to cash in on Monsanto’s new found sources of ways to sell their pesticides hidden in the gene. They would rather just sell it without letting the public know what they are eating, after all it is safe, isn’t it?
You will see more and more of this happening in the USA first and then it will spread around the world as Monsanto’s GEO corn has spread under the guise of helping the world to feed itself.
I would like to see more GMO foods that show us that we, as humans, have the most amazing ability to do good as well as to do harm. Let us do good in this and make a product that is not a way to sell more pesticides but has put this science to task to create foods that we can eat without fear of later getting something because we were never meant to eat pesticides. Pesticides are intended to kill. It is as simple as that. So we should call it Humanicide. It is slow suicide for all that take it.
I grow organically; I grow everything organically. I don’t like pesticides. Never did trust the folks that say it is perfectly safe to use as long as you follow instructions. They have been proven wrong over and over again. They just have gotten better at either paying folks off or just fighting in courts till your money runs out.
These companies will force feed you this GEO food. It is good for them, good for doctors, bad for the earth, dangerous for humans. Even the addition of natural products like BT has adverse effects on insects and plants. This science has not been tested under normal conditions, not only under lab conditions. It has not been tested where the winds can take GEO seeds, pollen or whatever around the world to affect other plants. It is already known to produce weeds that are immune to Round Up as well as insects that are immune. If you were looking for an answer to Bee Colony collapse, then look no further then here. You will find that bees do not do well with GEO corn or any other GEO food it has to collect pollen, to make its honey, etc.
There is only one way to protect yourself. Buy only certified organic products. Do Not fall for the word “Natural” anymore. I did at first but not anymore. Natural does not protect you from GEO foods anymore. One solution is to grow your own food. To buy only certified organic seeds. Buy them now while they still have these seeds as these companies are buying them and you will not see them again. Start your own local seed bank.
