The growth of digital information has drastically altered the relationship between consumers and brands. The wealth of information collected and shared online keeps consumers accessible to the companies hoping to reach them.

While at Cannes Lions, CEA’s very own Chief Economist Shawn DuBravac, shared his thoughts on how this is increasing the power of consumers, including how they manage their health. He talked about the possibilities arising from the growth of digital information, but also cautioned that when dealing with new innovations, patience is key.

DuBravac is also the author of the New York Times Best-Seller Digital Destiny: How the New Age of Data Will Transform the Way We Work, Live and Communicate (Regnery Publishing, 2015). In his book he explains that the world’s mass adoption of digital technologies foreshadows the beginning of a new era for humanity.
