A Promise of Revenge: Crime Stories for Education and Entertainment
Elkhart, IN
Saturday, May 07, 2005

On May 21, 2005, at Otsego District Public Library, in Otsego, Michigan, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., crime story writer Terri Kay will present her book series, A Promise of Revenge. Created for education and entertainment, Ms. Kay's book series prompts debate about the behavior and choices of the characters. Problems facing characters in her books include unforgivingness, domestic abuse, alcohol abuse, troubles in relationships, and other concerns.

"When I wrote these books" Ms. Kay explains, "I wanted them to be a starting point for discussion, information and resources for coping with problems. I began with the books, and then developed the book guides and the web site to encourage discussions about the social problems presented in the books. My next steps include expanding the guides and establishing resource pages at my web site."

The library is located at 219 S. Farmer Street. For more information about this event, contact Otsego District Public Library at (269) 694-9690.

Ms. Kay adds, "The problem of unforgivingness when linked with the wrong circumstances leads to tragedies. These tragedies might be avoided with discussion and information. I want my murder mysteries to help people by opening avenues for positive discussion and information on problems."
