American Dental Association Releases ADA Practical Guide to Leading and Managing the Dental Team

Chicago, Oct. 20, 2015 — Available now from the ADA is the ADA Practical Guide to Leading and Managing the Dental Team.  This publication is designed for dentists, office managers, and anyone on the dental team who would like to develop their leadership skills.  ADA member price is $49.95 and retail price is $74.95. The publication is also available as an e-book.

According to Dr. Lisa Knowles, author of Chapter 2: Conflict Resolution, "Poor conflict management results in the collective loss of millions of dollars in healthcare costs. By avoiding conflict or creating conflict at the wrong times, we unintentionally neglect patient care, make mistakes, and cause unwanted stress in our work environments. The side effect of unresolved conflict is a detriment to our healthcare system. The chapter I wrote helps dental professionals learn to reframe preconceived notions about conflict and, ultimately, find more peace in the way they practice dentistry with better communication methods. A peaceful practice is more efficient and effective. I am honored to share my knowledge with the members of the American Dental Association."

Leading and Managing a Dental Team can be ordered at adacatalog.org or by calling the ADA Member Service Center at 1-800-947-4746.
