How to Find Publishers and Agents and Get Published

After relaunching The Publishing Connection (www.thepublishingconnection.com) as a successor to Publishers and Agents, founded 11 years ago, the Company has gained growing support for helping authors connect with publishers, agents, and the film industry.  For example, one novel writer had this to say:

"I had over 30 agents or editors wanting to see more material -- so your consultation and service was a great success...Thanks so much for your good work!"

In the course of testing out the databases, one of the company's partners, Gini Graham Scott, found publishers for seven! of her books: American Justice written for a client,  New Middle Ages, The Lies of a Sociopath, Memory Power, Get What You Want, and two books on dogs and cats. All of the publishers will be announced shortly.

The service works by connecting clients using their own email with a targeted group of book editors, literary agents, foreign agents, and those in the film industry.  After originally founding Publishers and Agents in 2004, Gini Graham Scott was a writer-consultant to the new owners of the company from 2008 to 2013. Then, after it went out of business, she became a partner in The Publishing Connection and will still be a writer-consultant.  She has started a series of weekly blogs on the website how writers can be successful. Just go to "Blogs."  A dozen of these blogs have recently been published as a book: How to Find Publishers and Agents and Get Published: Tips and Techniques from the Publishing Connection Blog for Writers. http://tinyurl.com/pz9vu9o).  Some of the recently posted blogs include:

      - Three key guidelines for writing a good query letter to book publishers and agents.

      - Should you find a publisher or self-publish?

      - Turning your blogs into a book or your book into a blog.

Other blogs deal with negotiating with publishers, protecting one's online work from copycats, and selling film rights for a book or series of blogs

The company also helps by writing proposals, editing, and consulting on strategizing a pitch, or deciding which agent, publisher, or producer to work with.  In addition, the company helps with self-publishing and promoting a book.
