The short has also been accepted into the Oakland Film Festival, to be screen on April 4, and it premiered at the Scary Cow Film Festival at the Castro in San Francisco last year.

The film deals with a once successful man facing the loss of his house and the prospect of living on the street after losing his job. He can't find another job and can't borrow money from the bank or from friends who are struggling, too. In desperation, he decides to put on a suicide party with his friends' help; if he raises enough to save his house and get back on his feet, he'll live; if not, he'll end it all. The short ends with his decision to throw the party, and the full SUICIDE PARTY feature deals with the aftermath, which includes a media frenzy and unexpected results. Extensive details about the project, including the short and a trailer, are at www.gofundme.com/suicide-party.
It is a very timely film dealing with inequality, the loss of the middle class, and the increase in suicide driven by the growing economic crisis for many formerly middle and upper income individuals. The feature: THE SUICIDE PARTY: PROJECT O is being directed by Jack Skyyler of Dear Skyyler Productions with lead actors Glynn Praesel, Brandon Gibson, and Tom Malloy, who together have made over 30 feature films.
The writer and one of the Executive Producers is Gini Graham Scott who was inspired to write the script after being caught up in the mortgage meltdown when she lived in a house in Oakland before moving to San Francisco two years ago. She has written and produced over 60 short videos in the past three years. Filming for the feature is expected to start at in mid-July in Los Angeles. Some of her more recent films like SUICIDE PARTY also deal with the current economic turmoil, including three music videos: BAD BAD BANKS, CREDIT CARD RAP, and BANKRUPTCY BLUES, and the documentaries: MIDDLE CLASS HOMELESS and FORGIVE OUR TAXES,
