 New Immigrant Guide Launched by Award Winning Immigrant Author:

The UN Ambassador Joins Business and Community Leaders at Media Event


January 24 2014- SF Bay area -The Immigrant Success Planning Launch, set to take place on February 9th 2014, will bring together local politicians, business and community leaders, as well as immigrant students from Bay area schools. With key organizations, policy-makers, students, immigrants, and leaders attending this event, it will focus on the path for the empowerment of immigrants that Arghandiwal outlines in his book.

UN Ambassador Dr. Waheed Waheedullah, who wrote the Foreword for the book, will be one of the speakers at the event. According to Dr. Waheedullah the "practical lessons learned and the best practices compiled in (the) book will help immigrants and refugees take control of and lead successful lives." Also represented at the event, will be refugee/immigrant and social services organizations, such as Alameda County Social Services, Rising International, the Afghan Coalition, association of Afghan Scholars, Emergency International and Afghan immigrant sporting organizations from the Bay area. The event will feature talks, a book signing and refreshments.

Atta Arghandiwal first arrived in the United States from war-torn Afghanistan, 28 years ago, and built a successful career in banking, recently retiring as 1st Vice President and Senior Regional Manager at Washington Mutual. He has now realized his dream of writing the Immigrant Guide he wished was available when he first arrived. A dedicated humanitarian passionate about helping immigrants, Atta understands first-hand the challenges they face, not only in navigating the immigration process, but also the accompanying cultural and financial challenges. Arghandiwal was awarded the Benjamin Franklin award for his first book, and Immigrant Success Planning- A Family Resource Guide, is his second published book.
