Pamela D. Wilson of The Care Navigator announces a new one-of-a-kind online community of support for family and professional caregivers, The Caring Generation®.
The holidays are time for family gatherings. Adult children return home to visit aging parents and are shocked to witness physical or mental declines. Unexpected observations include homes in disarray or in need of repair, unpaid bills, a decline in physical ability, weight loss or worsening of chronic health conditions all indicating that once independent parents are no longer able to successfully manage aspects of daily life. Caregiving is an unexpected role for adult children who are often raising their own children and building careers.
Family caregivers are lost, not knowing where to turn for support when parents, commonly in denial, insist they "don't need any help." The Caring Generation also provides support and education for professional caregivers who benefit from learning how to support overwhelmed caregivers and older adults frustrated by poor health and physical decline.
