Dennis Quaid’s Wife Kimberly Filing for Separation

Dennis Quaid's wife Kimberly Buffington-Quaid has filed for separation, reports TMZ. The parties have been married for eight years and have two twins, who are four years old. She is requesting joint legal custody and sole physical custody with Dennis having visitation rights. She is also seeking spousal support and attorney's fees. Kimberly filed the case as a Separation because the parties moved to California during the summer and she has to wait to covert the case to a Divorce to meet California's residency requirements.
By filing the case as separation the clock starts to run on the residency requirements and she can convert the case to a dissolution, once she has been in California for (6) six months. Evan T. Sussman
