U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has selected OBXtek to lead their $15M Gateway Augmentation project. MicroTech is part of Team OBXtek, along with Virtustream, and will use its cloud computing (MicroKloud™) solution to provide a smooth migration of the existing system from a Government Owned/Contractor Operated (GOCO) system to a Contractor Owned/Contractor Operated (COCO) solution.

Leading Services Provider and Technology Integrator MicroTech is the technical lead for the migration involving the transition of the current FMCSA system from a stand-alone client/server environment to a cloud environment. A key component of the project will be incorporating MicroTech's portable data bases during the transition. This solution avoids down time, prevents risk of data loss, and enhances security. Once the migration is complete FMCSA's gateway will have increased performance through leveraging the latest technology.

This $250M contract allows the Army to reduce costs through server consolidation and updating and optimizing their systems with fixed and containerized data centers. This solution involves a variety of MicroPodd configurations, including desktop, portable, and modular data center versions, as well as 20-foot and 40-foot mobile data centers, to meet a wide variety of capacity requirements.
