Award-winning humorist Mike Ball, well known for his frequent and hilarious literary forays into the adventure of fatherhood, has decided to give a Father's Day gift to his fellow dads everywhere. He is making the Kindle eBook version his first book, What I've Learned... So Far, Part I: Bikes Docks & Slush Nuggets, free for download from Amazon.com on June 15, 16, and 17 at this link: http://j.mp/JZIocZ

Ball's quick wit and homespun humor have earned him fans all over the world, along with the Erma Bombeck Award and finalist status for the Robert Benchley Award. A hallmark of his work is his ability to range from laugh-out-loud funny to tearfully poignant in a single piece. "Mike Ball can make me laugh and cry in 400 words," said one reader.

"Mike Ball's columns are sly, subversive stuff, said Loren D. Estleman, Author of nearly 70 popular novels. "'Stupid Winter Hats' may be my favorite. My philosophy has always been that freezing is preferable to one of those knitted things best left to the people who stick up convenience stores."

Ball's idea for the free book promotion came when his wife asked what he wanted for Father's Day. "I just realized that the gifts I most enjoy getting are books, and I like to read everything these days on my eReader. So, Happy Father's Day, guys!"

What I've Learned So Far... Part I: Bikes, Docks & Slush Nuggets includes Ball's Erma Bombeck Award-winning essay, "Just A Little Bike." Other topics range from Ball's prowess with tools: "I believe that if God had intended for me to use a screwdriver he would have given me the ability. Or at least the desire;" to his relationship with domestic animals: "As much as I'd like to think their adulation reflects their esteem for me as a person, I know better. In their eyes I am really more of a giant Milk Bones and Tuna Snaps dispenser."
