Gloria Starr Gives a Five Starr Plus for Exceptional Service to Qatar Airways Staff

As the global image, etiquette, manners and communication coach and consultant, I must say I was so impressed with my recent trip to Doha, Qatar.

Rarely have I felt safer; the country is clean, well-maintained roads, spotless shopping malls, beaches, great restaurants, well-spoken, polite people of many nationalities. Qatar is a liberal part of the Middle East and very welcoming of other cultures. Women have the vote and serve in government. The Emir's wife is focused on art, culture and education, spearheading new museums and universities.

You get some idea of the all-persuasive wealth in Qatar at the Qatar Airways First Class Lounge in Doha. Other airlines might have a buffet and a selection of wine and liquor; this lounge has a full restaurant with white linen tablecloths, a glass-fronted wine cellar, a pasta and a sushi bar, plus huge bouquets of fresh flowers and water flowing in the sanctuary areas adding an additional level of calmness.

All this was very impressive, but what impressed me the most was the service in the first class lounge of Qatar Airways. The gentleman who served me, Manish Kumar was impeccably dressed, spoke to me with respect and knowledge of the menu. Mr. Kumar served my food and beverage selections with such attention to detail and courtesy that itt seemed as if I was his only guest in the lounge.

Accolades to each and every Qatar Airways staff member that assisted me on my arrival and departure. I look forward to returning to Doha soon.
