Sandy Malone, of Weddings in Vieques and Weddings in Culebra (Puerto Rico)

Available For Morning and Afternoon Chat Segments as well as News/Talk Programs

Caribbean and Destination Wedding expert Sandy Malone is now a regular contributor to the Huffington Post Wedding section. She offers practical advice to couples about wedding and event planning, and merging two households into one.

This week Sandy shares her own story of shopping for her own wedding gown and starts the conversation about reality TV shows that take us behind the curtains of plus-sized women shopping for their big day.

Sandy Malone writes, "I truly wonder what the heck the more bodacious and curvy ones were thinking when they agreed to participate in a reality show about shopping for the single most important item of clothing a woman will ever own. Did the young ladies in the very first episode of "Say Yes to the Dress: Big Bliss" know they had signed up for the fat-girl episode? Or did they think they were going to be on a regular episode like everybody else? Why would they do it? Do they get the gown for free? All of those shows always say that "consideration" has been given to the participants. If so, why all the negotiation in dress price? Isn't it sort of a sham?"

Discussions with your audience that Sandy can help you lead:

The costs of wedding apparel

Acceptance of your body shape and size by your intended

Trying on clothes in stores in front of others

The desired treatment of sales staff

Sales staff nightmare stories

Sandy is a fast paced interview and would make a great guest for broadcast, podcast, and live web-chat sessions.

Also, consider an interview with Sandy about expanding her stable of small businesses on a Caribbean Island to now include Flowers in Vieques. In today's economy it takes a lot of fortitude to expand your business holdings so that you may better serve your clients. Consider an interview with Sandy Malone multi-business owner.

Sandy, a former Wall Street Journal writer, fell in love with this Puerto Rican jewel of an island when she was a media consultant for the Government of Puerto Rico during its effort to kick the U.S. Navy off the island back in the 1990s. When her job was finished, she continued to visit the island, located seven miles off the coast of the main island of Puerto Rico, as frequently as possible. In 2004, she got married on Vieques and found that wedding planning on an island located seven miles off the coast of another island called for her to use her skills as a seasoned event manager in Washington, DC. The San Juan wedding planner she hired and fired delivered nothing of what she promised, and Sandy and her then-fiancé Bill (a SWAT team commander in Washington, DC) ended up doing all of the work themselves. Now with almost five years and 400 weddings and commitment ceremonies under her belt, Sandy is the expert on Caribbean destination wedding planning, budgeting, and guest management.
