The nation's critical illness insurance trade organization is seeking to hear from individuals who received claim b enefits as a result of owning critical illness insurance protection.
"While this is still a relatively new form of insurance protection, every year hundreds of individuals receive claim payments and we want to share how this protection benefited them," explains Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Critical Illness Insurance. The national trade organization is embarking on the industry's first consumer awareness communications campaign.
Critical illness insurance pays a benefit upon diagnosis of cancer, a heart attack or stroke. Conceived of by a South African heart surgeon, the insurance protection is commonly sold around the world. "The protection has been available in the United States for two decades," Slome explains, "and the number of individuals with this protection grows every year.
"We want to hear from individuals who received a claim payment and tell how the cash payment made their lives and their recovery better," Slome explained. Those interested in knowing more can contact the trade group at (818) 597-3205.
