Diesel Technology Forum to Showcase Clean Diesel Technology
As Part of "Advanced Technology SuperHighway" Exhibit
At 2012 Washington Auto Show
Washington, D.C. – To highlight clean diesel technology's role in increasing fuel efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the Diesel Technology Forum (DTF) will participate and exhibit in the "Advanced Technology SuperHighway" program at the 2012 Washington Auto Show
In addition, DTF Executive Director Allen Schaeffer will be participating in the show's Public Policy Day on Thursday, January 26th. The auto show will be open to the public from January 27th through February 5th
"We are inviting policymakers from around Washington D.C., including those from the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Energy and Congressional staff to attend the Public Policy Day events and visit the Forum's clean diesel exhibit," Schaeffer said. "The Washington D.C. Auto Show is uniquely situated to attract key federal policymakers and we hope to educate as many officials as possible about the numerous advancements in clean diesel automobile technology and ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel
2012 Begins Well For U.S. Clean Diesel Auto Market
"The first three weeks of 2012 have been extremely exciting times for clean diesel automobiles in the U.S.," Schaeffer said. "First, there was the North American International Auto Show in Detroit that featured announcements about several new clean diesel cars and trucks that will be marketed in the U.S. in the next few years
"When you also consider the new federal fuel efficiency standards that will require 54.5 mpg by 2025, the future growth of the clean diesel market in the U.S. looks extremely promising," Schaeffer said
