DAN POYNTER OFFERS ADVICE TO
AUTHORS ON BOOK PROMOTION
Many authors recoil from the "P" word: "book PROMOTION" for a simple reason. Most writers are introverts. They withdraw from invitations to appear on radio, television, and autographings. As a result, most do nothing to alert potential readers there is a new book that matches their reading interests.
According to "Book Futurist" Dan Poynter, "whether you sell out to a large New York publisher or publish yourself, the author must promote the book. Publishers do not promote books and, in fact, they won't even look at your book unless you have a track record of promotion."
There are many ways to find readers and alert them to your book without getting dressed, leaving home, or facing the public.
Poynter offers a free 20-page information kit that provides detailed advice for authors working on a book. See
http://parapub.com/sites/para/resources/infokit.cfm He also offers a book promotion course to teach authors how to find readers.

Promoting a book is stimulating, fascinating, and fun but you need a plan. The most expensive parts of publishing a book are the mistakes. You do not have to make them. Read the books on books, attend seminars, and get the free information kit mentioned above.
