Lifesaving Resources kicks off 2012 season of Ice Rescue training

 Lifesaving Resources, LLC of Kennebunkport, Maine will kick off its 2012 season of Ice Rescue training programs on Saturday, January 21, in Harrisville, New Hampshire.

The Ice Rescue Technician course is designed to provide Fire, Rescue, EMS, and Law Enforcement personnel with the skills and knowledge required to safely and effectively respond to incidents on and through the ice.  The course includes 3-hours of classroom instruction and 5 hours of practical training on and through the ice.

The course is open to all First Responders.  Tuition includes books and materials, lunch and snacks, and upon successful completion of the course, a Course Completion Certificate and Insignia.

Participants must provide an approved Ice Rescue DrySuit for use during the practical sessions.  Rental suits are available on a limited basis.

The Lifesaving Resources' Ice Rescue Technician course meets and exceeds NFPA 1670 Standard for Technical Rescue.  Upon successful completion of the course, participants are awarded a course completion certificate valid for 5 years from the course completion date.

Lifesaving Resources, LLC is dedicated to drowning and aquatic injury prevention and emergency management.  The company develops educational curriculums in Water Rescue, Ice Rescue, Aquatics Safety, and Lifeguard Operations and Management, and conducts this training throughout North America for the Public Safety and Rescue, as well as the Lifeguard and Aquatic Recreation Sectors.  The company also provides consultation services in drowning and aquatic injury litigation, as well as in rescue and training products and educational materials.

The company also conducts an annual International Ice Rescue Train-the-Trainer Academy (February 16 - 19, 2012 in Keene, New Hampshire), and an annual International Water Rescue Train-the-Trainer Academy, May 17 - 20 in Portland, Maine).  Upon successful completion of the Academies, graduates are authorized to conduct Water Rescue or Ice Rescue training programs on behalf of their own departments.

Other Ice Rescue Technician Courses being offered during 2012 include February 4 and March 3.
