Dr. Mayer Eisenstein, long time opponent of mass vaccination and author of Make an Informed Vaccine Decision for the Health of Your Child: A Parent's Guide to Childhood Shots, on his weekly radio show, heard every Saturday on WYLL 1060 AM in Chicago at 10:00 am Central Time (

www.wyll.com), on September 10 talked about why "Flu Shots are Silly." Eisenstein, whose runs a thriving practice in Chicago and environs, has been against mass vaccination, especially as it relates to children, for over 25 years.

His views are well known on this subject, and those many other vaccines, through his books, articles, videos and a lifetime of warning his patients, and anyone who will listen, that mass vaccination poses a danger. As proof of his success, Eisenstein points the fact in his practice he has no cases, as in zero, of autism, which is a heated topic still at the heart of the vaccine controversy.

Now a new idea has been creeping into the news, the possibility of a Universal Flu shot that might last ten years of maybe a lifetime. News has been coming out of Oxford University and in the United States claim to be making progress. Dr. Eisenstein is skeptical for a variety of reasons, first his lack of trust in major drug companies makes him believe they would lose too much money if such a vaccine were indeed to hit the marketplace. Every year millions of flu vaccines, generally for last year's strain, are administered around the world.

On August 8 Todd Akcerman, writing for the Houston Chronicle, reported that "researchers from Galveston to Europe are reporting progress on a universal flu vaccine, a shot that would provide protection for years, maybe even a lifetime, against all seasonal and pandemic strains of the virus. Making flu immunization like those for measles or tetanus is finally within reach, they say."

Ackerman noted that Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases, believes "we're very close to a proof of concept, to demonstrating that a universal vaccine that induces a strong immunological response is feasible." That remains to be seen and many questions of efficacy and safety to be pondered and resolved, that is just for mainstream medicine and doesn't includes the legion skeptics like Dr. Mayer Eisenstein.

As governments bureaucrats, tied in heavily with drug companies, continue to add new vaccine requirements Dr. Eisenstein continues to offer advise on how to avoid those requirements. For example, a whole section of his previous book, Don't Vaccinate Till You Educate, has extensive details on how to prepare documents exempting children form these requirements. Eisenstein's passion for this topic will
