Pension Risk Management Workshop For Florida Public Plan Trustees
Trumbull, CT
Sunday, June 26, 2011

Dr. Susan Mangiero is off to Orlando to address the Florida Public Pension Trustees Association about pension risk management. She will be joined by an esteemed colleague, Dr. Michael Kraten, in a presentation about the fundamentals of enterprise risk management (including the famous COSO cube) and the role of the service provider in creating hedging programs and vetting asset managers who use derivatives. The workshop will include two case studies about foreign currency overlay programs and investing in hedge funds and private equity funds, respectively.

"Having addresed the Florida Public Pension Trustees Association" several times before about pension risk management, I am impressed with its commitment to fiduciary education about investment best practices. Trustees all around the world for both public and private corporate retirement plans are facing numerous challenges as relates to hard-to-value investing, service provider due diligence, fees, corporate governance of portfolio companies and risk management. Training and peer networking is critically important as never before and conferences like this one can be a life line to trustees."
