Dr. Gayle Spunky Old Broad
"Unfair" is what Dr. Gayle Carson a.k.a The Spunky Old Broad calls the new regulation from the airlines. "I travel with my pet every month from coast to coast. What started as a $50 charge each way for my pet has now grown to $125. That's $250 round trip. They don't get frequent flyer miles and you can't even take a purse because they are considered luggage" "You can have a child seated in your lap who is 30 lbs. but a nine pound dog has to be under the seat, is a big expense and thought of as luggage," says Dr. Gayle. Plus now the airlines are requiring a separate pet ticket and paper work to be filled out by the ticket agent. Just one more chore for a hassled agent. The airlines say it's because there are so many pets traveling. But they limit the pets on a plane to 5 and there is no limit on children under 2. Being a Spunky Old Broad (S.O.B.) Gayle thinks airlines should rethink their pet policies, especially for frequent fliers and pet lovers everywhere. People who take their pets and pay for the privilege, think of them as their children and want the same courtesy extended to them as is extended to families.
