Lotto Is Not the Only Game in Town: Try Rare Earth Minerals!

For the past 27 years I have been helping people win lotteries. Before that, I was a stockbroker helping people make money in the stock market. I was also an award-winning commodities futures trader and licensed trading advisor.

I have not been a licensed stockbroker or commodities trading advisor for nearly three decades, so I cannot legally tell you how to invest your money. But I can tell you how and where and why I am investing my own money.

I hope you were invested in precious metals this year since gold is up 30%, silver is up 70%, copper is up 19%, platinum is up 17% and palladium is up 87%. But there are other rising stars for you to consider for your stock portfolio.

The two sectors of stocks I want to tell you about today are rare earth minerals and a huge new oil find.

Rare earth minerals, mined from the earth, are used in the manufacture of many high and low tech devices including fiber optic cables that bring television and internet into your home, batteries, motors, generators, computer disk drives, cell phones, hybrid cars, wind turbines, guided missiles, flat screen televisions, and much, much more.

China produces 97% of the world's supply of the 17 elements that make up the rare earth minerals group. But that is not enough for China. They are looking to import more of these rare minerals wherever they can, plus it is rumored that China may embargo its own rare earth minerals.

Since this is a relatively new industry, many of the companies I will tell you about are not yet profitable. Price is based more on expectation than earnings. It reminds me of the computer industry in the 1970's when an investor didn't know which computer company would survive and reap a windfall for the investor – and which would go bankrupt.

These stocks are risky and should only be bought with money you won't need for a long time. They will be very volatile as more investors learn about them. Speculators will pump and dump, giving you a chance to accumulate more shares on speculators' profit-taking dips.

I am invested in some, but not all of them. I am giving you a dozen to choose from. It is a good idea to spread your money across several of them, as some will be winners and others losers.. Some are still very inexpensive. I trust you will do your own research and find the best one(s) for you. You will find a lot of information about each of these stocks on the Internet.

First I will give you the stock symbol, then the closing price as of Friday, November 3, 2010, then the name of the company.

My oil play is Continental Resources, CLR.

According to NewsOK.com: "Continental is at the center of one of the biggest areas of opportunity in the U.S.: the Bakken Shale formation in North Dakota and Montana.

"There's a lot going on up there," Hamm said. "That's the hottest oil play in America today, probably the hottest exploration play — period."

The Enid-based company has become synonymous with the Bakken. It was the first company to drill a horizontal well there and remains the Bakken's largest leaseholder with about 865,000 acres.

Hamm had estimated the Bakken could yield 8 billion barrels of oil, but he said he now thinks it may hold three times that much oil."
