On Tuesday, July 27, 2010, Dr. Michael Griffiths will be the featured guest of The National Academy of Science. He will be speaking at an event being held at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel, 450 Powell Street, San Francisco, CA. The topic of the presentation will be "Management of Health Service through Outcome Based Statistics".

Dr. Griffiths has been practicing general dentistry in Washington, DC since 1980 and has completed more than 100 hours of training in implant dentistry. He is a former President of the Washington, D.C. chapter of the American Dental Association and the D.C. Division of the American Cancer Society.

Dr. Griffiths graduated from the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry in 1978 and the University Of North Carolina School Of Public Health in 1980 with degrees in Dentistry and Public Health Administration.

He has taught at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Crown & Bridge Dentistry) and Howard University's College of Medicine (Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Medical Ethics) He has worked as a W. K. Kellogg/ Robert Wood Johnson Fellow with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Dr. Griffiths has worked to advance the cause of health care for all through his efforts with President Clinton's health care reform efforts and participation with President's Regan efforts for the elderly and President H.W. Bush's health care reform efforts of Secretary Louis Sullivan. He has endeavored to bring the practical experiences of 27 years in clinical practice to efforts to make health care available and affordable for all.
