Betty White Named Spunky Old Broad of the Year

Betty White is the recipient of the second Spunky Old Broad Award announced Dr.
Gayle Carson, the original S.O.B. Dr. Carson says, "You can't have a better representation of what a Spunky Old Broad is than Betty White. Her energy, smile, enthusiasm, and sense of humor are exactly what women are looking for and she does all of it with grace and wit." The S.O.B. movement was started by Dr. Carson as an expression of belief that life begins at 50 for most women. By that time, children are grown, careers are stable and life takes on new meaning.
