The end of the year with final papers and exams are approaching and finding more time gets more difficult.  Use these tips to help ease the last weeks of school.

1. Plan your time.

Have a weekly planner for daily assignments as well as a large monthly calendar to visually see the entire month at one time. Notice what weeks are heavier than others and add new activities to the lighter weeks.

2. Break major projects into chunks.

Large reading assignments, research papers, and studying for exams should be broken into smaller chunks to make a large task easier to achieve.

3. Quiet Study area

Study in a quiet area. The study area should have little to no distractions -- turn off music and TV. You can't study and focus when you have distractions. If you need to, go to a library.

4.  Highlighting

If you highlight everything as you read, you usually end up with an all yellow page.  On the first run through – use a red pen and underline. Then when you study and review highlight only the important items.   If your page is already highlighted, go back and red underline the important items.

5. Index cards

Use an index card notebook (3x5 ) to prepare a research paper. This allows easy movement of note cards to create the draft and final version of research papers. It also keeps cards from getting misplaced or lost.
