Teachers, parents, businesses and organizations who find printed resources helpful in honoring the service of men and women in the U.S. military can make use of the many Veterans Day printables available at Web sites.

The national holiday, first established as Armistice Day after World War I and under President Dwight D. Eisenhower changed to Veterans Day, is celebrated each Nov. 11.

On there is patriotic American flag stationery for letters and fliers, as well as military-themed letterhead, all free to download and print.

There are also several printable certificates suitable for honoring veterans' service, including red, white and blue designs as well as a flag certificate recognizing achievement. The certificates are free to download and print in PDF form. There is also a premium ($5), editable .DOC version that can be typed upon in Microsoft Word.

For children, coloring pages bring a visual element to the holiday. There are military coloring pages with soldiers and their vehicles as well as other patriotic themes on All of the coloring pages are free to download and print.
