Long the most popular destination for Internet searchers for information about "salt," the Salt Institute's website,
http://www.saltinstitute.org, has been relaunched with a new look and user-friendly organization.
The site features basic and in-depth information about sodium chloride and its 14,000 known
uses, descriptions on how and where salt is produced, the various public policy issues affecting
society's efforts to utilize the benefits of salt for human health, public safety and energy efficiency. The site features more than 500 technical papers from six international salt symposia sponsored or organized by the Salt Institute and an Education Center with materials for road maintenance agencies, high school teachers and salt industry technical personnel.
A new section on "Articles and references" enables visitors to use the site as a portal for their Net
searches and sift through the debris often littering the Internet.
The new site integrates the Institute's Salt Sensibility blog and reports recent headlines about salt companies and market developments related to the production and use of salt. RSS feeds are
available from the site.
