Joe Kennedy, author of "The Small Business Owners Manual" announced
today that his firm has launched a new type of Internet service, where accounting
systems for small business clients may be kept up to date without the need for
on-site bookkeeping staffs
Traditionally, bookkeeping services have been performed at the customer's
location where an accounting person must occupy a workstation. This increases
overhead expenses, requires extra space and may be disruptive. Alternatively,
work may be performed at a remote location, but during this time the client
cannot make accounting entries or see new information until the new data file
is returned
But LosAngelesQuickbooksHelp.com
approaches this differently. Under this setup, entries are made from workstations
at Kennedy's offices, directly into PC's at the clients' location
using online services such as GoToMyPC.com, software such as PCAnywhere or a
VPN (Virtual Private Networking) connection
For a slightly higher price ($34.95 per month) accounting files may be hosted
at a remote location in a secure data center. This option still allows Kennedy's
staff to make entries at any time, but without gaining entry to the clients
local area network. No special software is needed beyond a browser. This would
be especially attractive when security concerns are paramount or officers are
traveling
Transaction data may be gathered in a number of ways, including ubiquitous
Internet-based sources favored by e-commerce type companies. But most clients
will fax, email, or even mail data for entry. Since an extra copy is then created
and organized, the client ends up with a free backup of most hard-copy files.
Data file backups are also made on a daily basis to tape and to remote locations
"This is a great alternative for small businesses all over," said
Joe Kennedy. "We can do things in a less disruptive manner, more accurately,
under better management, and above all at better rates"
Kennedy continued "some businesses require daily updates where we do
everything, and others want us to just do a few headache-type of tasks at month-end.
Of course we'll get involved in either way"
Joe Kennedy provides other services for small businesses (investment banking,
legal, and new business development) as seen at TheSmallBusinessOwnersManual.com,
aka tsbom.com). He has an MBA
in marketing and a BS in Finance from Penn State and is author of "The
Small Business Owner's Manual" (Career Press, 2005, ISBN 1-56414-813-0)
based upon his 20+ years of experience in serving as owner, director, officer,
advisor, vendor and client to businesses all over the U.S. and across many industries
