Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked (Habayit Hayehudi) on Monday stated that she is working, together with AG Avichai Mandelblit, on an outline for imposing Israeli law on the Israeli-controlled part of Judea and Samaria. Established by the 1993 Oslo accords as Area C, it covers 60% of Judea and Samaria and is home to an estimated 350,000 Jews who live in 225 communities (including outposts yet to be approved), and 30,000 Arabs. Israel already has control over security and land-management in Area C, and many in Israel view the area, for all intents and purposes, as a future part of Israel, as opposed to Areas A and B, which were designated as the foundation of a future Palestinian autonomous territory.

Speaking to Army Radio, Shaked said she plans to appoint a committee based on the new outline, to examine every law passed by the Knesset and decide whether it can be imposed concurrently on the Jewish communities in Area C as well, via a military decree (Tzav Aluf). Past attempts to impose an automatic application of new Israeli laws in Judea and Samaria have failed, including two separate attempts by Habayit Hayehudi. These included a minimalist bill to apply Israeli laws in the “Jewish communities of Judea and Samaria,” and even a bill prohibiting discrimination in the supply of goods and services to Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, which has been waiting for a Knesset vote since 2011.

Shaked is hoping that establishing “a team who will examine every single law” for its applicability in Judea and Samaria will indirectly create a promotional device that would be on hand to pressure the IDF General Officer Commanding (GOC) and the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) to pay better attention.

At the moment, the legal picture in Area C is very complex, whereby the law there is comprised of Ottoman and Jordanian laws, combined with military decrees of the GOC, with the Supreme Court playing referee. In recent years there has been a growing tendency on the part of the GOC to apply new Israeli laws as soon as they had been passed. Last March the Knesset passed a law enabling settlers to receive on gains inside the green line the same tax benefits they are entitled to in Judea and Samaria; and a law coordinating home buying taxes so settlers won’t have to pay twice. Despite the fact that both laws—which were passed late at night when the leftwing parties were not paying attention—the legislation was condemned as “crawling annexation” of the “occupied territories.” MK Tzipi Livni (Zionist Camp) said it was a quiet way for the Netanyahu government “to impose its ideology.” Which, presumably, is what you do when you win.

The last time Livni’s party was the big electoral winner, she and her partners used their power to transfer some 8,000 Jews from their homes, the first time a Jewish community had been forcibly evicted from its homes since the end of WW2.

On Sunday, in a similar vein, Shaked said that she intends to equalize the legal conditions for Israelis on either side of the green line, either by using the military decree or by new legislation. Speaking at the Legal Forum for the Land of Israel, Shaked added that “It’s important that the Justice Minister have political power and political ability.”

Yes, it is, and this Justice Minister appears to be using hers wisely and bravely.

NOT Foreign Aid to – Israel

2.US Investment In – NOT Foreign Aid TO – Israel

By: Yoram Ettinger, Ambassador (ret.) Yoram Ettinger is consultant to Israel’s Cabinet members & Israeli legislators & lecturer in the U.S., Canada & Israel on Israel’s unique contributions to American interests, the foundations of U.S.-Israel relations, the Iranian threat, & Jewish-Arab issues.

In 2016, Israel is a major contributor to – and a global co-leader with – the USA in the areas of research, development, manufacturing and launching of micro (100 kg), mini (300 kg) and medium (1,000 kg) size satellites and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as well as joint space missions, space communications and space exploration sounding rocket and scientific balloon flights. According to NASA Administrator, Charles Bolden, “Israel is known for its innovation. The October 15, 2015 joint agreement gives us the opportunity to cooperate with Israel on the journey to Mars, [highlighting Israel’s unique, extremely lightweight technologies, which conserve energy]….”

Israel is no longer a supplicant – as it used to be in its early years of independence – transformed from a net-national security and economic consumer to a net-national security and economic producer, generating substantial, military and commercial dividends to the US, which exceed the highly appreciated $3.1 BN annual investment, in Israel, by the US.

The annual US investment in Israel – erroneously defined as “foreign aid” (Foreign Military Financing) – has yielded one of the highest rates of return on US investments overseas. Israel is neither “foreign” nor does it receive “aid”.

From a one-way-street relationship, the US-Israel connection has evolved into an exceptionally productive two-way-street, mutually-beneficial alliance. The US is the senior partner, and Israel the junior partner, in a win-win, geo-strategic partnership, which transcends the 68-year-old tension between all US presidents (from Truman through Obama) and Israeli prime ministers (from Ben Gurion through Netanyahu) over the Arab-Israeli conflict and the Palestinian issue.

According to former Supreme Commander of NATO forces & Secretary of State, the late General Alexander Haig: “Israel constitutes the largest US aircraft carrier, which does not require a single US boot on board, cannot be sunk, deployed in a most critical region to the US economy and national security. And, if there were not Israel in the eastern flank of the Mediterranean, the US would have to deploy – to the region – a few more real aircraft carriers & tens of thousands of troops, which would have cost the US taxpayer some $15 BN annually. All of which is spared by the existence of Israel.”

Israel has been the most cost-effective, battle-tested laboratory of the US defense industries; the most reliable and practical beachhead/outpost of the US defense forces; sharing with the US unique intelligence, battle experience and battle tactics. Thus, Israel extends the US strategic hand, at a time when the US is experiencing draconian cuts in its defense budget, curtailing the size of its military force and the global deployment of troops, while facing tough international industrial-defense competition and dramatically intensified threats of Islamic terrorism overseas and on the US mainland.

For example, in 2016, Israel’s Air Force, which flies US-made aircraft shares with the US Air Force and the US manufacturers of the F-16, F-15 and additional US aircraft systems, real-time online, daily operational, maintenance and repair lessons, derived from Israel’s daily battle experience, which upgrades US national and homeland security, as well as enhances research and development, global competitiveness, exports and employment base of the US defense industries (e.g., Lockheed-Martin, McDonnell Douglas, Bell Helicopter, Boeing Defense, Northrop Grumman, etc.).

The plant manager of Fort Worth, Texas-based General Dynamics (Lockheed Martin), which manufactures the F-16, asserted that Israeli lessons have spared the manufacturer 10-20 years of research and development, leading to over 700 modifications in the current generation of the F-16, “valued at a mega-billion dollar bonanza to the manufacturer.” One may conclude that St. Louis, Missouri-based McDonnel Douglas, the manufacturer of the F-15 benefits in the same manner.

Similar lessons have been shared with the US Army, Navy and Marine Corps and the US manufacturers of tanks, armed personnel carriers, missile launchers, missiles, night navigation systems and hundreds of additional military and homeland security systems, manufactured by the US and utilized by Israel. For instance, the Chattanooga, Tennessee-based Northrup Grumman plant, which manufactures explosive-neutralizing robots has increased its exports since Israel’s decision to employ its product, benefitting from weekly telephone conference calls with Israeli experts, who have shared with Northrup Grumman their operational lessons. Israel is to the US defense industry what a triple-A tenant is to a shopping mall – enhancing value and drawing clients.

According to General George Keegan, a former US Air Force Intelligence Chief, the value of intelligence shared by Israel with the US – exposing the air force capabilities of adversaries, their new military systems, electronics and jamming devices – “could not be procured with five CIAs…. The ability of the US Air Force in particular, and the Army in general, to defend whatever position it has in NATO, owes more to the Israeli intelligence input than it does to any other single source of intelligence, be it satellite reconnaissance, be it technology intercept, or what have you.”

A similar assessment was made by the late Senator Daniel Inouye, who was the Chairman of the Intelligence Committee and the Appropriations Committee: “Israel provides the US with more intelligence than all NATO countries combined.” In July 2003, Brig. General Michael Vane, Deputy Chief of Staff at the US Army Training and Doctrine Command stated that Israel’s counter-terrorism experience shaped the US war on terrorism.

Moreover, US Special Operations units on their way to Iraq and Afghanistan are trained by Israeli experts in tackling suicide bombers, car bombs and the deadly Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). Upon arrival at the front, they are assisted by Israeli-developed (and co-developed with the US) unmanned aerial vehicles. Moreover, an Israeli armor plating technology, installed on U.S. military vehicles minimizes US fatalities, and the innovative “Israeli bandage” is employed to stop severe bleeding of injured US soldiers. US bomb squads leverage Israel’s unique counter-terrorism experience, improving their explosives neutralizing capabilities abroad and on the US mainland.

Israel has shared with the US its battle tactics and urban warfare experience, gained during wars against conventional Arab armies and Islamic/Palestinian terrorists. In 2014, General (ret.) Chuck Krulak, former Commandant of the US Marine Corps, stated: “The US battle tactics formulation, at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas – the intellectual Mecca of the US Army – is based on the Israeli book.” In 1991, during the First Gulf War, General Krulak fought Russian tanks operated by Saddam Hussein, by applying the 1973 Israeli battle tactics against Soviet tanks employed by Egypt.

In November, 1952, following Israel’s 1948-49 War of Independence, General Omar Bradley, the US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, proposed to expand strategic cooperation with Israel, only to be rebuffed by the Department of State, which opposed the establishment of the Jewish State.

However, Israel has evolved into the most effective US strategic beachhead/outpost in the Middle East and beyond, as demonstrated during the 1967 Six-Day-War, when Israel obliterated the Egyptian military, aborting the pro-Soviet Egyptian attempt to topple the pro-US Arab oil-producing regimes, which would have devastated US economic and military interests at a time of high-dependency on Persian Gulf oil. In 1969, Israel shared with the US its own flare system, which diverted anti-aircraft heat-seeking missiles away from their targets, saving the lives of many gunship pilots during the Vietnam War.

In 1970, Israel’s power projection forced a rollback of the Soviet-backed Syrian invasion of pro-US Jordan, which aimed at toppling the Hashemite regime, and then surging into Saudi Arabia, which would have triggered an anti-US geo-strategic avalanche.

Following Israel’s October 1973 War against the Soviet-armed Egypt and Syria, some 50 US military experts, headed by General Donn Starry, spent six months studying Israel’s battle experience and tactics and the captured Soviet military systems, producing eight thick volumes, which tilted the global balance of power in favor of the US, upgraded the US defense of Europe during the Cold War, enhanced the US air and land battle doctrines during the 1991 Gulf War, and improved the global competitiveness of the US defense industries.

In 1989, 1969 and 1966, Israel snatched a Soviet Mig-23, a most advanced P-12 Soviet early warning radar and ELINT (electronic signals intelligence) system, and aSoviet Mig-21 from Syria, Egypt and Iraq, respectively. All were transferred to the US, evaluated and integrated into the US battle tactics, counter-measures and the defense industrial competitive edge, tilting the global balance of power in favor of the US.

On July 4, 1976, Israel’s Entebbe hostage-rescue operation was a turning point in the battle against anti-US, pro-USSR Islamic terrorism. In 1981, in defiance of the US Administration, Israel devastated Iraq’s nuclear reactor, sparing the US a nuclear confrontation against Iraq in 1991, and snatching the pro-US Saudis from the jaws of pro-Soviet Iraq. In 1982, Israel destroyed twenty advanced Soviet surface-to-air missile (SAM) batteries, deployed in Lebanon/Syria and throughout the world, downing 89 Soviet Mig-21s, Mig-23s and Su-20s in the process. Israel proved that the most advanced mobile Soviet SAMs could be jammed, penetrated and destroyed, promptly sharing the battle tactics and electronic warfare innovations with the US Air Force and defense industrial base, providing the US with a significant geo-strategic and industrial game-changing edge over Moscow. In 2007, Israel destroyed a Syrian-North Korean-Iranian nuclear plant, dealing a blow to global terrorism, sparing humanity the trauma of a nuclear Assad in 2016.

In March, 2007, General John Craddock, the Supreme Commander of NATO, told the House Armed Services: “In the Middle East, Israel is the closest ally of the US, consistently supporting our interests through security cooperation.” Even CNN – which is generally critical of Israel – agreed that Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists advanced homeland security in pro-US Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States.

A June 2015 strategic agreement intensified cooperation between the air forces of both countries, establishing twelve teams of officers and codifying a widening range of joint annual agendas: operations, battle tactics, training, maintenance, repairs, airborne medicine, flight safety, etc., in the face of mutual threats, joint interests and constrained budgets. US combat pilots benefit uniquely during joint drills with their Israeli colleagues, who always fly in a “do-or-die” state of mind – a result of Israel’s narrow geographic waistline – which stretches the capabilities of the aircraft to new dimensions and generates more daring and innovative maneuvers, shared with their US colleagues. Recently, Israel’s Air Force developed a ground-breaking method of identifying, repairing and preempting cracks in old combat planes, such as the F-16, and promptly shared that information with the US Air Force and manufacturer. Instead of grounding planes for six months and preoccupying hundreds of mechanics, the Israeli-developed system requires two weeks and only a few mechanics, yielding significant economic and national security benefits.

In 2016, against the backdrop of mounting conventional and terrorist threats, the proliferation of Islamic terrorist cells in the US, the collapse of Europe’s military power projection, the Islamization of Turkey’s national security policy, the erosion of the Western posture of deterrence, and the growing instability, fragmentation, unpredictability and doubtful reliability of pro-US Arab regimes, Israel is the only stable, reliable, predictable, capable, democratic and unconditional ally of the US. Israel constitutes a critical obstacle to the megalomaniacal, Islamic imperialism, enhancing the national and homeland security of the US and its Arab allies. Unlike Europe, Israel is able and willing to flex its muscles.

An Israel-like ally in the Persian Gulf might have dramatically reduced the US military involvement in the Gulf and the Indian Ocean.

The raging, anti-US Arab Street, the melting UN-minded European Street, the commercially and militarily innovative pro-US Israeli Street, and the intensifying threats to global sanity and the US national and homeland security, all highlight Israel’s role as a special strategic partner of the USA – and not a member of the “foreign aid” club of supplicants – increasingly contributing to mutually-beneficial geo-strategic US-Israel joint ventures.

3.Trump: Israel should keep building in Judea & Samaria Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump says Israel should ‘keep moving forward’ in response to Arab terror. By Ari Soffer Arutz Sheva IsraelNationalNews.com Publish: 5/3/2016, 8:53

Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump has said Israel should continue building in Judea and Samaria, insisting the Jewish state should “keep moving forward” in response to Arab terrorism.

Speaking to the UK’s Daily Mail, Trump emphasized his support for the State of Israel, and appeared to veer away from previous comments in which he declared that he would stay “neutral” on the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Trump referenced the “thousands of missiles being launched into Israel,” by Arab terrorists prior to the 2014 Gaza war, asking rhetorically: “Who would put up with that? Who would stand for it?”

He also said he would sharply depart from the policies of the current White House, which has put enormous pressure on Israel to halt all construction – in Jewish areas only – in Judea & Samaria.

Asked if he similarly thought a building freeze was a good idea, Trump responded: “No, I don’t think it is, because I think Israel should have – they really have to keep going. They have to keep moving forward.”

Watch: “No, I don’t think there should be a pause,” the GOP frontrunner added, while leveling criticism against the Obama administration for its treatment of Israel.

“Look: Missiles were launched into Israel, and Israel, I think, never was properly treated by our country. I mean, do you know what that is, how devastating that is?”

He did repeat his intention to negotiate a peace deal, however, but cautioned he would only do so if he believed the deal would be a permanent one.

“With all of that being said, I would love to see if peace could be negotiated. A lot of people say that’s not a deal that’s possible. But I mean lasting peace, not a peace that lasts for two weeks and they start launching missiles again. So we’ll see what happens,” Trump continued.

He also underlined his good personal relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu – despite the latter’s criticism of him last year for his comments about banning Muslim immigration, which eventually scuppered the billionaire’s planned visit to Israel.

Trump praised Netanyahu as “a very good guy,” and again attacked Obama for his hostile treatment of the Israeli leader.

“I don’t know him that well, but I think I’d have a very good relationship with him,” Trump said of Netanyahu, for whom he made an endorsement video during last year’s Israeli general election.

“I think that President Obama has been extremely bad to Israel.”

Trump also repeated his oft-stated astonishment over Jews who continue to support Obama despite his hostility towards Israel.

“I don’t even understand where – I have Jewish friends that support Obama. I tell them all the time, I say, ‘What are you doing? The Iran deal is a disaster for Israel,'” he said.

Hypocrisy on the Golan Heights: An “occupational” hazard

4.Who are the Security Council members who are so “concerned” about Israel controlling the Golan?

By Dr. Rafael Medoff Published: Tuesday, May 03, 2016 4:17 PM

5 Dr. Rafael Medoff, is director of The David S. Wyman Institute for Holocaust Studies in Washington, D.C. His latest book is “FDR and the Holocaust: A Breach of Faith”. Fifteen countries that are illegally occupying other countries’ territories have denounced Israel for refusing to surrender the Golan Heights. It’s hard to know whether to laugh or cry–or perhaps just turn the page.

It’s hard to know whether to laugh or cry–or perhaps just turn the page.
The current president of the United Nations Security Council, Chinese ambassador Liu Jieyi, this week chaired a closed meeting of the 15 council members and announced afterwards that they share a “deep concern” about Israel’s position that it will not retreat from the Golan. They insisted that Israel’s presence on the Golan is illegal.

Ambassador Jieyi represents a Chinese regime that has been illegally occupying Tibet since 1950. China also illegally occupies various islands in the South China Sea, including the Paracel Islands, which it seized from Vietnam in 1974, and the Scarborough Shoal, from which it has blocked Phillippines forces since 2012.

Who are the other Security Council members, who are so “concerned” about Israel controlling the Golan?

Among the permanent members of the Council, there’s Russia, which occupied a large portion of Ukraine just two years ago. There’s France, which occupies assorted islands in the Indian Ocean (near Madagascar) and Antarctica. And there’s Great Britain, which occupies a long list of small territories around the world, of which the Falkland Islands are the best known because of Argentina’s unsuccessful 1982 attempt to oust the islands’ British occupiers.

Among the non-permanent current members of the U.N. Security Council who are angry at Israel, there’s Spain, which occupies the Canary Islands (near Morocco), as well as the cities of Ceuta and Melilla and seven other eclaves on Africa’s northern coast.

There’s Angola, which since 1975 has been occupying the territory of Cabinda. Somebody should ask the spokesmen for the Front for the Liberation of the Cabinda Enclave and the Republic of Cabinda Government in Exile what they think about Angola’s concern regarding the Golan.

Don’t forget Malaysia, which occupies North Borneo, a territory that the Philippines claim as its own. Not to mention Venezuela, which occupies Ankoko Island against the wishes of neighboring Guyana. Or Japan, which occupies the Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea, despite the protests of Taiwan and Communist China. Or Egypt, which occupies the Elba Mountains and the Hala’ib Triangle, territories that are claimed by Sudan.

The only Security Council member that tried to inject even a modicum of reason into the Golan Heights discussion was the United States. Although State Department spokesman John Kirby reiterated the standard U.S. opposition to Israeli administration of the Golan, he at least he acknowledged that “the current situation in Syria makes it difficult [to change the status of the Golan] at this time.

That, perhaps, is the most important point to be made in this discussion. If Israel were to do as the U.N. Security Council is demanding, the Golan Heights would be in the control of the genocidal Assad regime or the equally genocidal forces of ISIS.

Anyone who does not appreciate what that would mean for Israel, should read Hugh Nissenson’s classic, Notes from the Frontier, a poignant chronicle of the months he spent on a kibbutz near the Syrian border in 1965–that is, when the Golan was in Syria’s hands. “The Syrian mountains [of the Golan] are about a thousand feet above us, and their fortifications on the slopes completely dominate our settlements,” a kibbutznik explained to Nissenson shortly after his arrival. “They shell us anytime they like, and there’s nothing we can do about it…”

Keeping in mind that Assad and ISIS possess weapons far more dangerous than those of 1965, it’s hardly surprising that Israelis are not anxious to return to the days of being attacked “anytime they like,” and being unable to do anything about it. Today, there is something that Israelis can do about it: they can ignore the occupiers who hypocritically complain about others’ occupations. Dr. Rafael Medoff is author of 16 books about Jewish history.

5.’If Ettinger’s Public Enemy No. 1, why isn’t there evidence?’ Former MK Michael Ben-Ari demands general public, nationalist MKs stand up for Meir Ettinger’s fair treatment. By Benny Tocker Arutz Sheva IsraelNationalNews.com 5/3/2016, 12:26pm

MEIR ETTINGER Michael Ben-Ari Tomer Neuberg, Flash 90

As the campaign for Meir Ettinger’s immediately release grows, former MK Michael Ben-Ari has called on right-wing MKs to join the efforts.

“This is a cruel form of abuse without a trial and without a sentence. The entire public is silently allowing the Shin Bet and (Defense Minister Moshe) ‘Bogie’ Ya’alon to continue the abuse,” he told Arutz Sheva.

Ben-Ari expressed his confusion over the decision to extend Ettinger’s arrest. “It was easy for them to take Rabbi Kahane’s grandson and to declare he is Public Enemy No. 1 as though he was the head of the Jewish underground. If he’s Public Enemy No. 1, why isn’t there a shred of evidence against him?

“Even Rabbi Kahane sat in administrative detention for no reason. Meir Ettinger is an outstanding boy, who knows the Babylonian Talmud cold. He has original ideas and different opinions, but I thought that this is a democratic country.”

He fired that only right-wing governments persecute people from the right. “When it’s leftists who talk about violence, there’s silence. Ra’ad Salah is walking around free and Meir Ettinger is in jail. For what? Because he published some articles in The Jewish Voice?”

“They didn’t even want to let him attend his son’s brit. A left-wing government under Rabin placed Baruch Marzel on administrative detention but let him go to his son’s brit. Same for Noam Federman,” he added, referring to two veteran right-wing activists. “But now the right-wing government is acting cruelly.”

Ben-Ari called on MKs from the nationalist camp to wake up. “We need to ask questions because, if we don’t, he’ll remain in jail forever. This boy is being abused. His wife doesn’t have a crust of bread. We all need to wake up – today it’s him, tomorrow it’s you.

“Ask the Likud and Jewish Home MKs what they would do about it. If there isn’t any evidence, you should let him free. You can’t remain indifferent to violence against someone in solitary confinement. If this was someone from the mainstream, there would be outrage.”

6.IDF goes to war against its soldier: MK Smotrich demands explanation for reports that IDF hired top private lawyer to prosecute soldier for shooting neutralized terrorist. By Uzi Baruch Arutz Sheva IsraelNationalNews.com First Publish: 5/3/2016, 2:49 PM

MK Bezalel Smotrich (Jewish Home) sent a letter to IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkott on Tuesday morning, following reports that the IDF put a lawyer from a large firm into the reserves in order to serve as a prosecutor.

Smotrich asked Eizenkott to explain the reasoning for the move, as well as how much the military is paying for the lawyer’s services.

Yediyot Aharonot reported that the military prosecutor decided to strengthen its ranks with a top-rated private lawyer, and enlisted him into the reserves. The lawyer, Nadav Weisman, is a prosecutor and senior partner in Israel’s largest legal firm.

Weisman is also a lieutenant colonel in the IDF, where he served as a prosecutor in the judicial corps. During his service, he handled a number major cases, including that of Staff Sergeant Assaf Waxman, who was killed when an APC overturned, and the case of Sergeant Roi Dror from Duvdevan, who dehydrated & died during a training exercise.

The report stated that the military prosecutor needs significant reinforcements in order to handle the legal team representing Elor Azariya, the soldier who killed a neutralized terrorist. His defense attorneys include former Deputy Military Advocate General Ilan Katz, Eyal Besserglick and Beni Malka.

Military sources were quoted as saying hiring Weisman shows that the prosecution does not intend to back down and is not afraid of taking the case to court, even if it means forcing officers and soldiers to take the stand.

One soldier is in his 20s and is in serious condition with injuries to several vital organs, according to a spokesperson for Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency medical response service. He was evacuated by helicopter to Sheba Hospital at Tel HaShomer Medical Center.

Dr. Yoram Klein at the Trauma Unit of Tel HaShomer, later said in a statement the soldier will require “extensive treatment and his life is in danger. We hope we will be able to stablize him in the coming days.”

Two other soldiers, ages 21 and 22, were taken in fair condition to Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center, said a MDA spokesperson.

The attacker used a van to run over the soldiers, who were conducting unannounced security checks of drivers at the entrance to the Arab village of Ein Erik.

The terrorist was identified on the Hebrew-language Ynet website as 36-year-old Ahmed Shahada, a resident of Qalandiya who was living temporarily in the nearby Ramallah suburb of Beitunia. He was shot and killed by soldiers who were nearby.

Ruti Hasno, widow of Avraham Hasno, tells Arutz Sheva about her heartbreaking Passover and struggle for justice against husband’s killer. By Eliran Aharon Arutz Sheva IsraelNationalNews.com

Ruti Hasno by Eliran Aharon

Ruti Hasno, the bereaved widow of Avraham Hasno who was brutally run over and murdered by an Arab terrorist last October, spoke with Arutz Sheva on Monday following a difficult Passover without her husband.

Sahban Wael At-Titi, who ran over Hasno, was originally indicted for manslaughter last month before that charge was upgraded to murder following the outrage of Ruti Hasno and her children.

Hasno, a 54-year-old resident of Kiryat Arba, was murdered at the Al Fawar junction near Hevron. After being ambushed by Arab rock throwers, Hasno left his vehicle to chase off his attackers, but was intentionally run over and murdered by At-Titi.

An Arutz Sheva analysis of photographic evidence of the incident captured by a Reuters photographer revealed the driver, who turned himself in to Palestinian police claiming it was an accident, ran over Hasno at least twice, in an act of cold-blooded murder. After Palestinian police released him in March, Israel arrested the terrorist.

Ruti Hasno told Arutz Sheva that the Passover seder “was very hard. It was alone without Avraham. Our seder night was really indescribable. Other than all the family, there are guests and the charoset that Avraham prepared and every year the children waited for it. So I tried a bit to prepare and I took it with us to Rehovot where we were (for the seder).”

But at a certain point Ruti’s spirit broke. “It’s hard. I just got up from the table, went up to the room, took a sleeping pill and ran from the seder night. But you can’t run – the dawn arrives.”

“Then good people tried to embrace me and encourage me that the holiday will pass – the children too, their crying was heartbreaking. On the one hand you need to strengthen the children and try to pass the holiday – on the other, you’re finished,” she said.

“How that works out together I don’t know, but you see that the Holy One blessed be He does everything. The holiday passed and we are busy trying to understand that Avraham isn’t here, that they murdered Avraham. We still haven’t grasped that.”

Abandoned by the army

Hasno harshly criticized the military establishment’s conduct regarding her husband’s murder, as At-Titi is tried at a military court.

“The army abandoned us. There was no accompaniment, no explanations – from the day Avraham was murdered there was no one to ask. There was no supporting shoulder in the IDF,” she revealed.

Currently the family is struggling to have the terrorist who murdered Avraham be convicted not only for manslaughter but for murder as well. To that end, they are pressuring the military prosecutor to take action.

“My husband was murdered and the whole country saw it,” Ruti said, noting on the photographic evidence of the crime. “Those who say ‘there’s no murder here’ – you have to say to them ‘what are you making a joke of us? Are you fooling yourselves?'”

She pointed out that “unfortunately everything is documented, the entire process they did they photographed.”

“What’s more, anyone who says there is no murder – that’s not something we’re even addressing. They aren’t normal if they see it all and say it wasn’t murder – they need to be taken to a psychiatrist.”

“Mister?”

When asked about her feelings ahead of the military court trial, she said, “I’m very angry about this whole process. It’s murdering Avraham twice. It’s murdering my children twice. We can’t pick ourselves up. We’re just scraps – and they’re crushing us more.”

“I don’t even know how to describe this feeling. I can’t breathe – you embrace the children all the time and try to give them the air that I have left to give and say, ‘it’s okay kids, we’ll continue onward from here.'”

Hasno spoke about the insensitivity of Judea-Samaria region military prosecutor Lt. Col. Morris Hirsh, who called her and informed her of the manslaughter indictment after it was already submitted.

“They murdered Avraham and I’m thinking of my children – the day they contacted us from the prosecutor I put the call on speaker and the children were there. He (Hirsh) said to me, ‘I want to speak with you about Mr. At-Titi.'”

“I just couldn’t grasp it,” she recalled. “Mr. At-Titi? This murderer, this scoundrel is a mister.”

According to the bereaved widow, “the problem starts from here. From this moment that they start to lift this murderer up and call him ‘mister.’ My children started to shout and said ‘hang up on him.'”

“Avraham will raise a ruckus up above”

Addressing the Jewish nation, Hasno said, “I want to tell the nation of Israel – even at the moment when they come and try to cover something up – don’t give in. Everyone must go with their truth, and the reins will be pulled from above.”

“Up above Avraham will raise a ruckus and no one can stop it. The justice and truth will come to light.”

Attorney Ofir Sabag is representing the family, and he spoke to Arutz Sheva about the legal struggle.

“In the territories of Judea and Samaria in practice Jordanian and British law as well as orders on security instructions are in effect,” he explained.

“The military prosecutor made a brave decision to accept the appeal as it is as a confession, given that a change in the indictment does not have weight. Before the court stands a precedent-setting and daring decision that can change the reality.”

Sabag stated that the Judea-Samaria prosecutor has a “civil and moral obligation” in the case to prove that the terrorist identified Avraham and intentionally ran him down.

“I am in ongoing contact with the Judea-Samaria prosecutor and intend to continue to fight and prove that Avraham Asher Hasno z”l was murdered at a time when he was on his way to a doctor.”

IDF Major Rabbi Shraga Dahan this week arrived at the Chabad synagogue in Beit Shemesh dressed in his uniform & was attacked verbally by a youth who called him “Hardak,” Haredim 10 reported.

The term Hardak is an offensive slur which represents both an acronym for Haredi Kal Da’at or Vain Haredi, but is also a combination of the words harak and haidak, which mean, respectively, insect and germ in Hebrew. The term was featured in an anonymous campaign that was begun back in 2013 by Haredim opposed to the draft, to attack their kin who decide to enlist. The purpose of what eventually became a nasty and occasionally violent campaign, was to create a public pressure that would discourage young Haredim who are contemplating service in the Army. The Hardak campaign also encompassed an attack on Haredi individuals who use smartphones, who were dubbed Modern Haredim. Beit Shemesh, a city outside Jerusalem split down the middle between Haredim in one section & Modern Orthodox & secular Jews in another, one of the most vocal hubs of the campaign. 13

According to Major Dahan, this was not the first time he had been attacked this way, but this time he decided to respond. “A year ago I was walking around [Haredi] Ramat Beit Shemesh Bet and they threw stuff at me, cups, etc, and cursed me out.” On a different occasion, Dahan was attacked when making a shiva call in Kiryat Malachi, despite the fact that he was accompanied by the neighborhood rabbi.

Dahan, a Chabad Hasid who serves as military chaplain, said he started to fear even walking through the Haredi neighborhoods of Jerusalem, such as Geula. “It’s not normal,” he said. “I’m not ashamed of what I do, should I apologize for representing Judaism in the IDF?”

Finally, being attacked inside his own synagogue was the straw that broke his camel’s back. He walked over to the catcalling youth and took away his hat. “I didn’t want to beat him up, I wanted him to understand what he had done,” Dahan explained. He then ordered the youth to sit down and recite a chapter of Tehilim for the wellbeing of IDF soldiers, if he wanted to get his hat back.

After 40 minutes of recitation, Dahan approached the youth again and offered to study together Chapter 32 in the Tanya, the foundation text of the Chabad Lubavitch movement. The chapter deals with loving one’s fellow Jew — suggesting all of Israel are called brothers because their souls are rooted in the same, singular God, only their bodies are distinct from each other. However, there can be no true love and fraternity between those who regard their bodies as primary and their souls secondary, it would only be a love based on an external factor (Source: Chabad.org).

The young man was reluctant at first, but eventually understood that if he wanted his hat back (it costs between $50 and $100 new), he’d better sit down with the rabbi in uniform and learn.

“To his credit, in the end he understood his mistake and heartfully begged my forgiveness,” Major Dahan said. “I asked him if he regretted his actions and would commit to never repeating them in the future and he answered yes.” Dahan believes this is the only way to reach Jewish extremists — learn with them about loving all of Israel.

“Let my reward be that I managed to bring some love of Israel during the period of the sefirah,” he concluded.

The period of 33 days beginning on the second day of Passover is considered a time of misfortune in Jewish history. It is part of the Sefirat Ha’Omer, the counting of the 49 days from the night after the seder leading up to the holiday of Shavuot, when the new grain will become permitted for eating. The Cycle Begins Again: Chareidi Rabbis Harvest Wheat for Next Year’s Pesach Matzot

11.”Never Again” is dead by Stanley Zir Today, there is no other race of people on this earth who face the threat of the extinction of 6 million (the number of Jews in Israel) by a nuclear holocaust. Never again?

Arutz Sheva IsraelNationalNews.com Published: Tuesday, May 03, 2016 2:45 PM18 Stanley Zir, is founder of Never Again is Now and Victorious America.com “dedicated to the completion of America’s destiny… in fulfilling Liberty’s mandate: ‘Our Eternal War on Tyranny’.” He can be found at scrapthedeal.com.

Never Again, two simple words, was once the proud refrain that united all levels of Jews around the globe; Orthodox, Conservatives, Reforms, Chassidim, Ashkenazis, Sephardic, Culturalists, Nationalists, Philosophical believers, non-believers, observant and non – traditionalists; Brothers and Sisters in Solidarity determined that no one, no country, no Head of State, no group force would ever again have the power to overthrow our people and place us under the crushing thumb of anti-Semitism, the ultimate Jewish hatred and threaten our existence and right to live on this Earth.

Re-establishing Israel as our legitimate home, our Divine birthright, announced to the world and reinforced the notion that no Jew would ever again feel isolated or abandoned. Never again.

On September 17th, when Tennessee’s Republican Senator Bob Corker stood in the well of the Senate, painfully aware that there were not enough votes to stop Obama’s Iranian deal and conceded victory to the Democrats, Never Again was dealt its fatal blow. The GOP leader cut his response short, left the chambers, and apparently, the rest of the Pro-Zionist movements, those strong outspoken advocates who once boldly rallied to Israel’s side, abandoned their stances and chose to do the same..

Instead of gaining a renewed commitment from this deadly blow, Zionist groups responded “Well, what else could we do?” In essence, they folded their tents, waived the white flag of surrender to Iran and left the Never Again battlefield to be silent ever since. Never Again is Dead

In 1943, the world failed to do anything substantive to stop the European Holocaust. Not that there was any real excuse, but back then people just could not fathom that such despicable horrors could possibly take place, even as pictures appeared in the newspapers. What kind of demonic animal could possibly dream up such torture and persecution of a people? Seventy years later, there is no such excuse. Modern media instantly streams live broadcasts from Israel’s neighbors, including Iran, the new peace partners of the United States, promising “death to Jews” and avowing “Israel will be abolished” – even exclaiming to cheering hoards that they are going to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. The cold, brutal facts are staring us right in the face and we are still not doing anything.

There should have been enough hatred and vitriol spewing all around to have started a firestorm under every Jew and every supporter of Israel. It was time to take up the fight, in an unrelenting campaign to demand that the US government run to the aid of Israel, its only true Middle Eastern peace partner, instead of placing the ingredients of a nuclear bomb into the hands of a tyrannical Iran.

Netanyahu pleaded with the American Jewish and the Christian Zionist leadership to speak out and recognize Iran as the greatest threat to Israel, but his words fell on deaf ears as leaders refused to make it their top priority. They simply caved in and moved on to the next item on their bucket lists after the deal was done. America preferred a wait and see attitude. The Government leadership failed us, our Jewish leadership failed us. And now that the deal is done, we sit Shiva for Never Again.

After the Passover holiday, as we have for the past sixty-five years, we make plans to remember the six million victims of the Holocaust on Yom Hashoah. We honor those victims and commemorate the darkest period in human history. We have constructed magnificent museums, monuments and other works of art to pay tribute to the Jewish martyrs, and have held tens of thousands of ceremonies to honor them.

Ironically, despite these Draconian efforts and our gut-wrenching two-word creed, Never Again, American Jewry is doing next to nothing to prevent an impending second Holocaust!

It cannot be possible that Jews don’t see the similarities between a Judenrein Germany and Iran’s construction of death chambers where nuclear bombs will replace Zyklon B. Read the writing on the missiles!

Yes, the deal is done but that doesn’t mean there’s no more to do. Instead of renewing our pledge to Never Again , we console our hearts by building bigger monuments or lighting bigger candles.

At the Harrow School in October 1941, while referencing the threat of Nazis during World War II, Winston Churchill spoke, “Never give in, never give in, never, never, never-in nothing, great or small, large or petty – never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.” There’s a leader.

Take a lesson, Jewish and Christian Pro-Zionist organizations! Let me remind you that Never Again means one thing only, and that is under absolutely no circumstances, not for political pressure, not for the sake of peace (or the illusion of peace) should we, the Jewish People ever yield one iota, not one inch to any group who aggressively pursues the extermination of the Jewish people. In fact, let me remind you, that today, there is no other race of people on this earth who face the threat of the extinction of 6 million (the number of Jews in Israel) by a nuclear holocaust.

And while North Korea continues to play with their big missiles, receiving barely a slap on the wrist by the UN and the International Communities who support Iran’s nuclear build-up,Israel continually gets berated, shamed and sanctioned, having their hands tied while Obama agrees to give the green light to Iran, thumbing his nose directly at Israel. The Jewish community remains silent.

In 2011, I wrote that G-d forbid Russia would threaten Israel if Israel tries to protect herself from Iran. Well, here we are in 2016 and that is exactly what has happened. We watch Iran shake hands with Putin who promises to back them should Israel attack their nuclear sites. Even more perverse, it was reported in 2014 that Obama threatened to shoot down Israeli planes if Netanyahu attacked Iran, a fact that the US administration flatly denied, but the planned Israeli attack never occurred.

And Trump? If elected, he will have to deal with Iran. Trump has already conceded that “when those restrictions expire, Iran will have an industrial-size military nuclear capability ready to go..” Perhaps his most telling statement is that he would re-negotiate the Iranian deal, as if he believes there is an actual possibility to talk logic with Fascists, whose goal is to wipe Jews off the face of the Earth.

Here’s the biggest problem that no one is talking about. Our illustrious leaders and leaders-to-be are proclaiming that we should just wait out the eight months until the next US President takes office, and implement their foreign policy, Really?

For sure, Iran, is not sitting idly by for the next eight months. Instead they are amassing equipment, testing rocketry right under our noses, fully backed by the additional economic benefits and having now attained financial legitimacy on the open global trading market.

We need leaders. Fearless leaders who are unafraid to stand up to our government and the world and the joke called the United Nations. Trouble is that Jews in America have been looking for Moses in all the wrong places. First it was Jews for Palin, then Jews for Bachman, then Jews for “Come for me first” Glenn Beck. Why are these so-called Pro-Zionist leaders not unapologetically calling for the immediate destruction of the Iranian Nuclear Holocaust War Machine? They too have capitulated. Where is our Moses to lead us away from those whose mandates of hate have promised a second holocaust against the Jews? Who will guide us with passion, with vision and commitment?

Let’s take a lesson from a modern day Moses, a little known hero of Jewish legacy. David Silberman, a mild mannered survivor from Riga, who was the central figure in the historic two-day sit-down hunger strike that took place in the Kremlin in March of 1971. With a petition in hand for the Secretariat requesting that his fellow Latvian Jews be permitted emigration to Israel, David, along with 55 other Latvian Jews stood together against military threats and KGB bullying, finally receiving permission to leave Russia, emigrate to Israel, and thereby opening the door for the exodus of Russian Jews to make Aliyah. David refused to abandon his dream to reach the Promised Land.

In his diary, “Two Days” David wrote, “Skliarov (Director of the hall of the Presidium at the Kremlin) tried to persuade the Jews of Riga to go home. “Our home is Israel! Let us go home!” – could be heard from various comers of the hall. After a few more encounters, Skliarov . .left and the light was put out. It began to grow dark outside..But the people in the Secretariat did not disperse.”

Suddenly Senia Nakhimovsky rose from his place and said “Dear friends, Jews! The evening is approaching. I congratulate you on the occasion of the Feast of Purim, the feast of the miraculous delivery of our people!” Stormy applause in the hall followed. A young man in a skull-cap, Boris Lofis, rose from the table holding a prayer book in his hands, said “Jews! I will read to you in the language of our ancestors, Ivrit (Hebrew), a few excerpts about the Exodus of the Jews from Egypt and will translate them into Russian.

This story has a direct connection with us, with the events that are now taking place here.”And then the sacred words of the ancient writing flowed from his lips: “And the Lord said to Moses: Go, tell the Pharaoh, the King of Egypt, to let go the sons of Israel out of his land.” Unintentional tears appeared in the eyes of men, women, young and old. As David remarked in his diary, “These were some of the greatest moments ever lived through by Soviet Jews.” Great things happen when men (and women) stand by their convictions and don’t lose hope or give in.

As George Washington stood alone against all odds with his rag-tag army to gain a monumental victory over British tyranny in the War of Independence, he set the stage for America’s protocol when it came to facing threats to human freedom when confronted by tyrants and fascists. This is the DNA of the American warrior. We do not waiver or give in to tyrannical enemies. We look them in the eye and defy them. Nothing is more sacred than our freedom and our right to a safe nation.

As victims of the most heinous crimes ever perpetrated upon a group of people, it is incumbent upon all Jews, especially American Jews who have been twice blessed with the Covenant of redemption and the Constitution protecting our freedoms to lead the charge that will end the Iranian nuclear threat against world peace, especially as it relates to Israel, to America and all nations that value their citizens and their freedom. Thus we Jews are indivisibly bound and obligated to protect humanity from the scourge of tyranny.

That is why it is the mission of American Jews to ensure that the United States, the leader of the Free World, never embraces a foreign policy that gives legitimacy to a nation that declares a Holy War Jihad against America, champions a nuclear Holocaust against Israel, and negotiates any deal that uses American troops or partners as bargaining chips.

We must demand that our leaders be true heroes and refuse to capitulate to the useless Obama containment doctrine. We must never honor this deal

In the famous story about American Brig. General Anthony McAuliffe, the Commanding Officer who was approached by four German soldiers waving two white flags bearing a note from the German Commander demanding the Americans surrender. At first McAuliffe was confused asking clarification that it was the Germans wanting to surrender. He was told, “No sir, they want us to surrender.” McAuliffe ordered a written response typed: “To the German Commander” with one word. “NUTS!” The Germans, unsure of the meaning, asked, for a definition. The answer was simply, “Go to Hell.” Leaders don’t give up, and neither should we. Say “nuts” to those who are waiving the white flag of surrender now that the deal is done. Never Again Jews never surrender

I encourage you to turn your backs on those who call themselves Jewish leaders if they are still not calling for the immediate destruction of the Iranian Nuclear Holocaust Machine. Shun them; withdraw your support and your funding. If your Rabbis and Synagogues are not calling out for the immediate destruction of Iran’s nuclear capability, I say withhold your membership dollars.Never Again means Never Again!

Our leadership has got to stop being derailed and diverted by non-essential issues. They have to stop jumping from one crisis to another trying to put out fires. Instead, we must demand that they focus on the realistic threat which is Iran, whose Supreme leader is a mad tyrannical extremist, who will have a bomb in his hands, aimed first at Israel and then the rest of the free world. It won’t really matter which bathroom any transgender person uses, or which particular groups’ lives’ matters when we fall under the unending threat of Nuclear Jihad.

The fact is that our immediate focus must be on stopping Iran from becoming a legitimate nuclear terrorist enterprise. On this Holocaust Memorial Day, we must resurrect Never Again. We must embark on a course to stop Iran now. We cannot wait for our Government, or certainly the next administration to act. It is in our hands to demand that the Iranian deal be scrapped

Who will stand up the day of Yom Hashoah and speak for the six million people whose voices that no longer have a voice?

Who is going to speak for the six million people now living in Israel?

Once Iran is transformed into a legitimate terrorist nuclear state, the world as we know it will change, forever. Never Again needs to be resurrected for Never Again is Now

12.Palestinian Islamic Jihad Delegation in Iran to ‘Bolster the Intifada’ Raise Funds. Ramadan Abdullah led a delegation of Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists to Iran to ask for money & suggestions on how to “bolster the intifada.” By: Hana Levi Julian JewishPress.com Published: May 1st, 2016

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror organization sent a delegation to Iran this weekend to meet with officials on ways to “strengthen the intifada” in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem, according to a statement issued by the group.

PIJ secretary-general Ramadan Abdullah told Palestinian Authority media the delegation is slated to meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and Supreme National Security Council chief Ali Shamkhani over the next several days.

On the agenda were the terror group’s claims that Israel is trying to “Judaize” the Al Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount, and the need to keep funding the terror groups in Gaza.

Abdullah lamented “the Arab indifference toward Palestine and its oppressed people” in a statement to the media.

In response, Ali Akbar Velayati, head of the Strategic Research Center of the Iranian Expediency Council, vowed Iran would continue to “support the Palestinian people and continue fighting against terror and the Zionist entity, together with all Muslim states.”

The trip, which appeared to be an appeal for money, comes after a lean year in which Iran bestowed its beneficence instead on a new Shi’ite terror group in Gaza called Al-Sabireen.

More money for Al-Sabireen meant less funding for PIJ and its associate, Hamas, which has instead begun to build a relationship with Sinai Province – the former Ansar Beyt al-Maqdis terror group that abandoned its ties to Al Qaeda and pledged its allegiance to ISIS.

The PIJ delegation met with Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, as well as other senior Iranian officials.

“In these meetings the parties discussed the current circumstances prevailing in the Islamic nation and especially… ways to bolster the intifada in the West Bank and Jerusalem opposing the Zionist expansionism,” a delegation spokesperson said.
