Can Social Media change the course of events in Greece? Could the speed of computers raise 3.20 Euros per European to turn the course of this crisis? Thom Feeney is checking this out. You can get a postcard, ouzo, or join just for the joy of it. Isn't this country, that has given the world so much, worth a small contribution and an enlarged heart.
Can this change the course of human history?
Somewhere on the Internet, (Indie Gogo) a man has raised 1 million Euros on the way to more to save Greece. Thinking big he has calculated how their debt could be repaid. Isn't it natural to want to act to turn this crisis around? Taking visionary action, the campaign has been building up assets in just 4 days.
He has directly asked the entire citizenry of Europe for help. Feeney has run the numbers focusing on saving Greece and leaving the binary political thinking that is pulling people apart in the digital dust or at least using cyber power to bring together new ideas for philanthropists and foundations, social enterprise corporations, and people with more good will to join in. 9 days more could be the proof or the money goes back to the donors. This is really something to share with your friends. "The put down the pint" campaign is a social dollar initiative to do good by being a larger community. Feeney is stretching the concept of what we can do with Technology with vision to drive out fear and move towards workable solutions. Check it out.
Dublin Radio featured this idea…look it up. Invest to participate…..no joke.
From the Telegraph:
"A crowdfunding campaign attempting to save troubled Greece from bankruptcy has raised more than €560,000 in less than two days - although it still has a long way to go to reach the €1.6bn needed.
The 'Greek bailout fund' campaign was started by 29-year-old London-based Thom Feeney, who says Greece would be better letting "the people" decide its fate rather than European ministers. "
The Digital Journal:
"With publicity increasing around the project, the tally was increasing at around 5,000 euros per hour. That was, however, still some way short of the 9.5 million euros per hour required to hit the target on time.
Feeney, from York in northern England, promises to refund donations should the target not be reached within seven days."
