Dear Family & Friends,

Is the world ready to fight against Terror?  Is the world ready to recognize that 98% of murderous Terror is being done by radical Islamists?  Can we ADMIT the obvious? Or are we being programmed to OMIT the obvious?

Today the news is full of Islamic Terrorism & their fatal results against Jews.  Four Jewish men who were shopping for Shabbat were murdered because they were Jewish, were brought by their families & Israel & France to be buried this afternoon in a famous Jerusalem cemetery.

Many good analyses here.  Time for us all to pay attention & play catch up.

Before returning to Israel on Monday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the kosher supermarket in Paris where four Jews were killed by an Islamic terrorist on Friday.

“A direct line leads between the attacks of extremist Islam around the world to the attack that took place here at a kosher supermarket in the heart of Paris,” Netanyahu said. “I expect all of the leaders, with whom we marched in the streets of Paris [on Sunday], to fight terrorism wherever it is, also when it is directed against Israel & Jews. Insofar as it depends on me, I will always see to it that Israel marches in the first row of nations vis-a-vis its security & its future.”
At the site of Friday’s attack, Netanyahu was greeted with applause & the singing of the Israeli national anthem by members of the French Jewish community. During his visit, the prime minister talked with Celine Shreki, one of those held hostage in the supermarket.

Earlier on Friday, Netanyahu met at his hotel with leaders of the French Jewish community.

“There is great significance in what the world saw, the prime minister of Israel marching with all the world leaders in a united effort against terrorism, or at least in a call for unity,” Netanyahu said of Sunday’s mass rally against terrorism.

“This is something the State of Israel has been saying for many years. This is what we are saying here today with one simple addition: If the world does not unite now against terrorism, the blows that terrorism has struck here will increase in a magnitude that can scarcely be conceived. Therefore, I hope that Europe will unite. I hope that it will also take action.

“Israel supports Europe in the struggle against terrorism, & the time has come for Europe to support Israel in the exact same struggle.”

2.The Fruits of Cowardice & Appeasement by Isi Leibler

 islam-france

The ill winds that have been gathering over Europe descended with a tornado last week in Paris with the barbaric Charlie Hebdo massacre, followed by the horrific terror attack at a kosher supermarket – a total of 17 dead in three days. But alas, the horrors will in all likelihood soon recede & life will continue as usual until the next attack.

Let me say at the outset that, while obviously condemning the murders & unequivocally defending freedom of expression, I do not associate myself with the “Je suis Charlie” movement. In condemning these barbaric acts, we are not obliged to identify with the racism & vulgarity of the victims. Charlie Hebdo was obscenely offensive to Christians & Muslims & promoted vulgar anti-Semitic satire. On the other hand, some Mormons were presumably outraged by the satirical musical “The Book of Mormon” but that did not grant them license to embark on a killing spree of the producers.

Western governments have yet to internalize the reality that what happened in Paris was not merely another instance of “terrorism” but a classic manifestation of the “clash of civilizations.”

Aside from murderous attacks primarily directed against Jews in Europe over recent months, there have been ongoing massacres & atrocities committed by Islamic terrorists throughout the world. To name a few: the butchering of 2,000 Nigerians this week in the wake of the Boko Haram enslavement of 300 schoolgirls; the murder of 130 schoolchildren in Peshawar, Pakistan by the Taliban; the barbaric videos broadcast of hostages being decapitated; ongoing mass murder in Syria & Iraq; oppression of women; & gruesome persecution, expulsion & murder of Christians in the Middle East.

Today, as the global impact of Islamic fundamentalism with increasing manifestations of brutal terrorism grows exponentially, Western leaders lack the courage even to identify the enemy. It has ominous parallels to the struggle with Nazism. Then as now, Western governments initially sought to avoid conflict by appeasing the barbarians – which only served to embolden them.

This originates in 9/11 when U.S. President George W. Bush, in his call for concerted military action against global Islamic terrorism, sought to placate his Arab allies by describing Islam as a “religion of peace.” This absurd mantra was repeatedly chanted whenever Islamic terror was mentioned & has become an overused term of the political lexicon.

But it was President Barack Obama & his administration that, despite the dramatic mushrooming of Islamic terrorism, must be held accountable for systematically denying its existence, even avoiding the term “Islamic terrorism.”

The same obstinate refusal to face reality & an effort to appease their increasingly radicalized Muslim communities motivated all European governments – in particular the French – to repeatedly state, despite all evidence to the contrary, that these acts of terrorism were unrelated to Islamic radicalism & were the actions of “lone wolves” or demented individuals. Even now, when the massacres were accompanied by calls of “Allahu Akbar” & “We are avenging the Prophet Muhammad,” French President François Hollande refused to use the word “Islam,” merely referring to “obscurantist” forces. However, in stark contrast to Obama, Hollande at least condemned the kosher supermarket attack as a “dreadful anti-Semitic attack.”

Throughout the world, jihadist mullahs & preachers promote hatred & extremism. In European cities, second-generation homegrown Muslims & converts are indoctrinated to endorse & in some cases participate in jihad & the murder of infidels. Those who convert are not necessarily from the underprivileged, but “ideologues,” many of whom belong to comfortable middle class families & are university graduates.

But worse has been the unspoken acquiescence of most governments & the media, preventing any meaningful discussion of the threat from Islamic extremism. Apart from downplaying & often even denying the overriding Islamic element in acts of terror, governments & media have disgracefully branded as “Islamophobic” any serious effort to discuss & analyze the problem, even promoting “hate speech” legislation to stifle any such public discussion.  The 57-member Organization of the Islamic Conference has attempted to make blasphemy (i.e., criticism of Islam) a crime in international law.

They have been further emboldened by the failure to immediately prosecute Islamic extremists who threaten violence against those who express criticism or dishonor Islam. What is truly ironic is that many of those on the Left who normally endorse the crudest outbursts against Christianity & Judaism, are the first to accuse any critics of Islam of Islamophobia & they display far greater concern for the sensitivities of Muslims. In many instances, Obama & European leaders have apologized & even groveled every time some crude outburst against Islam was expressed by individuals, many of whom were of marginal importance.

Of course not all Muslims are terrorists. But the number of radicals is dramatically increasing & like al-Qaida in the previous decade, Islamic State is providing them with a sense of empowerment & imbuing them with a willingness to die in pursuit of their objectives. The Paris massacres exemplify what we can expect from the thousands of well-trained indigenous battle-hardened assassins imbued with a fanaticism to sacrifice their lives to promote Islam & terrorize infidels, especially Jews, after returning from Middle East conflict zones.

While local Muslim leaders & heads of Islamic states condemned the massacres, it is chilling to witness the extent that popular public opinion, especially in the Arab world, supports terrorism. We should remind ourselves that it originated with the Iranian ayatollah’s fatwa to murder novelist Salman Rushdie, which was overwhelmingly endorsed in the Islamic world.

Even if only 20 percent of the Muslims are considered pro-jihadist – & there are in all probability more than that – this would represent two or three hundred million potential terrorists. To persist in denying the existence of such a huge Islamic terrorist presence is utterly delusional.

Above all, this undermines the moderate Islamic forces striving to stem or isolate this poisonous fanaticism that has arisen from within. Yet the Obama administration has mollycoddled the Muslim Brotherhood (a more nuanced but nevertheless direct extension of the terrorist network) & condemned the leader of the largest Muslim Middle Eastern country, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi.

Ironically, in a historic & critical New Year address, largely ignored by the mainstream press, Sissi publicly expressed what Obama & Western leaders have been denying. He stated explicitly that jihadism & terrorism were linked to “the corpus of texts & ideas that we have sacralized over the centuries.” He warned that this was “antagonizing the entire world,” that “this umma is being torn, it is being destroyed … by our own hands,” & that “we are in need of a religious revolution.” (click here for video link)

Clearly, now that all parties engaged are no longer committed to democracy, this is a time to review our multicultural policies. Western governments must cease their groveling, impose draconian measures against Islamic extremists & intensify pressure on Muslim communities to purge themselves of these elements.

Issues of civil liberties must be considered secondary when the safety of innocent civilians is at stake. If that requires special surveillance & interrogation of suspect Muslims, so be it. It is common sense, not bigotry, to racially profile & concentrate on those from whose midst 99 percent of terrorist outbreaks originate.

It will require intensified penetration of mosques & Islamic community centers to identify & deal with those mullahs & fanatics promoting jihadism, including the Saudi financed Wahhabi outlets in the immigrant ghettoes. It will necessitate a rigorous monitoring of Muslim schools & Internet outlets to eradicate & prosecute the extremists who are transforming youngsters into beheaders.

Failure to act will intensify the prevailing massive swing toward parties opposed to immigration & parties of the far Right like the National Front in France, whose leader, Marine Le Pen, is now the frontrunner in presidential polls.

Jews have reassumed the role of the canary in the mine & are the first to be targeted, but the world would face the same threat if Jews did not exist. Israel has been at the frontlines confronting Islamic extremism but has received scant support. Indeed, until recently Western governments ignored the carnage in Syria, Iraq & other countries, preferring to concentrate on condemning Israeli housing construction in the Jewish neighborhoods of Jerusalem & regarding Israel as the major lubricant to Islamic extremism. French support of the PA application to the U.N. Security Council on December 30, obviously designed to curry favor with local Muslims, did not deter terrorists from committing their massacres in Paris a week later.

For Jews, the writing has been on the wall for a long time. The virulence of the anti-Semitic hatred closing in on Jews in Europe (and elsewhere) is horrifying. Robert Wistrich, the world’s leading scholar on anti-Semitism, says that anti-Semitism in France is now in “an advanced stage of disease” that cannot be reversed. There were a series of anti-Semitic murders in France & Belgium preceding the Paris massacre but they failed to raise the same level of outrage as the Charlie Hebdo murders. There were no popular campaigns saying “Je suis Juif.” Indeed there seemed to be greater concern about “Islamophobia” than the targeted Jewish victims.

Europe is today facing a crisis as serious as the confrontation with Nazism. If Western leaders continue behaving like Chamberlain & fail to stand up to this global threat, it could usher in a new Dark Age in which the Judeo-Christian culture is subsumed by primitive barbarism. The writing is on the wall.

For Jews, the Zionist vision has once again been tragically vindicated.

The bodies of the four Jews killed in the terrorist attack last Friday at a kosher supermarket in Paris were flown to Israel on an El Al plane on Monday night, & were buried midday Tuesday in a funeral service attended by thousands at Jerusalem’s Givat Shaul (Har Hamenuhot) Cemetery.

After the bodies of Yoav Hattab, Philippe Barham, Yohan Cohen & Francois-Michel Saada arrived at Ben-Gurion International Airport, relatives who had escorted the bodies from Paris held prayers on the tarmac. The bodies were then taken to Jerusalem.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had ordered all relevant government officials to assist in bringing the deceased to Israel for burial. Culture & Sport Minister Limor Livnat was put in charge of the preparations.

Tuesday’s funeral service was attended by numerous Israeli political & religious figures, including Netanyahu, President Reuven Rivlin & Opposition Leader Isaac Herzog. The French government was officially represented at the funeral by Ecology, Sustainable Development & Energy Minister Segolene Royal.

Speaking at the funeral, Rivlin said, “Yoav, Yohan, Philippe & Francois-Michel, this is not how we wanted to welcome you to Israel. This is not how we wanted you to arrive in the Land of Israel. This is not how we wanted to see you come home, to the State of Israel, & to Jerusalem, its capital. We wanted you alive & we wanted for you, life. At moments such as these, I stand before you, brokenhearted, shaken & pained, & with me stands & cries an entire nation.”

Rivlin said the victims were killed “in cold blood, because they were Jewish. The murderer made sure to be in a Jewish shop, & only then did he carry out the massacre. This was pure, venomous evil, which stirs the very worst of memories. This is sheer hatred of Jews, abhorrent, dark & premeditated, which seeks to strike wherever there is Jewish life. In Paris, in Jerusalem, in Toulouse, & in Tel Aviv. In Brussels, & in Mumbai. In the streets, & in the synagogues. In the schools, & in the local market. In the train stations, & in the museums.”

Rivlin continued, “We cannot allow it to be the case that in the year 2015, 70 years since the end of the Second World War, Jews are afraid to walk in the streets of Europe with kippot & tzitziot [ritual fringes]. It cannot be allowed that we should see in the news frequent vandalism of Jewish cemeteries, of Jews being beaten, & of synagogues & communities under attack. It is no longer possible to ignore or remain ambiguous, or to act weakly or with leniency against the rabid anti-Semitic incitement. Ignorance & violence will not simply go away on their own.”

Addressing French Jews, Rivlin said, “Our land is your land, our home is your home.

“However, returning to your ancestral home need not be due to distress, out of desperation, amidst destruction, or in the throes of terror & fear. Terror has never kept us down, & we do not want terror to subdue you. The Land of Israel is the land of choice. We want you to choose Israel, because of a love for Israel.”

Netanyahu followed Rivlin, saying, “Four dear people, honest & full of love, like the victims from Toulouse who are buried here, were killed solely for being Jews. Their lives were cut short in an attack of hatred by a lowly murderer.

“I have been saying for many years & I say it again today: These are not only enemies of the Jewish people, they are enemies of all mankind. It is time all people of culture to unite & uproot these enemies from our midst.

“We should focus on the spirit that exists here: You will never, ever, beat us. This is the strength of an ancient people that has always prevailed, & thank God, look around you, here in the mountains of Jerusalem, today we have a state of our own, flourishing & advanced, a state that is a moral lighthouse unto the world. Our president was right to say: Jews have a right to live in many countries & have full security, but I believe that they know in their hearts, there is one country which is their historic home, a state which will always accept them with open arms. This is the hope of the entire Jewish people.”

Royal then spoke, saying, “Each hit suffered by a Jew is a hit suffered by the French people. France boasts the first Jewish community in Europe. This is a point of pride. It is our duty to protect the place of the Jewish community in our country.”

Acting on behalf of French President Francois Hollande, Royal granted the victims the Order of the Legion of Honor.

French Jewish MP Meyer Habib was among the French Jewish leaders who traveled to Israel to attend the funeral.

“Israel has always been the spearhead in the fight against radical jihad,” Habib said. “But instead of supporting Israel, France was busy recognizing a Palestinian state. Europe & the free world must unite to destroy the terrorism that has grown within us.”

4.The abandonment of French Jewry  by Mati Tuchfeld Mati Tuchfeld

Sometimes things take place before your eyes that are difficult to describe by means of a pen or a keyboard. These are rare sublime moments, full of sensitivity, in which one is moved to tears. Such a moment happened on Sunday evening in Paris, when a boy, perhaps 14 or 15 years old, approached Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediately after his speech at the Grand Synagogue & sobbed against his chest.

The boy, whose family requested that he remain unnamed, lost a brother in the attack at the kosher supermarket on Friday. Netanyahu gave him a warm paternal embrace & patted his head for several long minutes. The boy, whose father was standing next to him, could not find the words to thank Netanyahu for his decision to visit Paris during the toughest time the French Jewish community has experienced in the past generation.

Those who do not understand why Netanyahu had to make the quick trip to Paris, those who wonder if he was “forced” to go there after two ministers in his government announced they were going, & those who question the “waste” of money on the trip — it would have been enough for them to take one fleeting glance at the eyes of the French Jews in attendance at the Grand Synagogue during Netanyahu’s speech to realize instantly why he was there.

The bitter truth is that French Jews have been abandoned. Despite the nice & flowery words of French President Francois Hollande & other government ministers, French Jews feel that their government has left them on their own. Even the French people are not eager to identify with them. At the mass rally in Paris on Sunday, the Jewish issue was on the farthest margins. All the signs & shirts said, “We are Charlie.” None said, “We are Hyper Cacher” [the name of the kosher supermarket that was attacked].

This was no coincidence. For the French people & their leaders, it is comfortable to talk about what happened last week as an attack against freedom of expression & democracy & portray the struggle taking place as one between “radicalism” & “liberty.”

But this is not the truth. What is happening is nothing more than a continuation of Europe’s traditional policy of burying its head in the sand. So it is no wonder that Netanyahu’s visit did not sit easy with the French government. They did not want the headache caused by someone coming to mess with their truth.

European Jews were the first to understand the situation. For years, they have suffered from the Islamic terrorism that has run rampant in their cities, particularly in Paris. They have already become used to hiding their identities, going out without their kippot & fortifying their children’s educational institutions as if they are military installations.

It appears that the feeling of abandonment by the French government after the kosher supermarket attack is the straw that has broken the camel’s back for French Jews. While Netanyahu was only able to bring small consolation to French Jews, he delivered a strong message that there is a country that has not abandoned them. The French may have disappointed us, but the Jews will always remain united.

Ayala Shapira, 11, who was badly injured by a Molotov cocktail thrown by terrorists on the family car near Ma’ale Shomron last month, asked to distribute a letter of gratitude to the public Wednesday morning.

“All the people of Israel, I thank you all for praying for me & thinking of me so much,” Ayala wrote.

Since the attack, Ayala has been hospitalized at Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer, suffering from burns to the face & upper body. Ayala said in her letter that the great encouragement & support the people of Israel have shown her “makes me feel special. I have no words to explain how much it moves me.”

Ruth, Ayala’s mother, said on Tuesday evening that “Ayala is healing slowly & in stages, she suffers pain & takes medicine to ease things for her. She speaks with lip movements & explains herself very well.”

“She asks questions about the medical treatment & shows interest,” Ruth said in an interview with Channel 10. “She doesn’t speak about the attack & we don’t bring it up either. She also smiles to people who come to visit her.”

Ayala’s father Avner was also wounded in the attack, albeit lightly, & remains hospitalized as well, placing Ruth in a challenging position.

“I’m ‘surviving’ – that’s the word,” she said. “I function kind of like a single-parent because I have a hospitalized daughter, a hospitalized husband & four daughters at home, so that the division of time isn’t easy, & I roll with it & get by.”

Speaking about her husband’s condition, she said “Avner remains hospitalized, his condition is improving but until the burn on his back heals he can’t leave there.”

She emphasized that Ayala’s recovery continues at a fast pace, meeting the doctors’ highest expectations.

“She’s doing everything according to the best predictions they give us, & we believe that with G-d’s help it will continue like this & she’ll be out of it soon,” said Ruth. The public is asked to continue praying for the full recovery of Ayelet bat Rut.

7.’Russian Spies’ Executed by Child Soldier in Shocking ISIS Video

Latest ISIS propaganda video shows execution of two alleged agents from Russian FSB spy agency – by a child no older than 10.

A shocking video posted online Tuesday appears to show ISIS using a young child soldier to execute two alleged Russian spies in Syria.

The slickly-produced video – which bears all the hallmarks of previous ISIS propaganda productions – shows two men being interrogated in Russian about their alleged attempt to infiltrate the jihadi group on behalf of Russia’s FSB spy agency.

In the forced confession one of the men, a Kazakh national, says he was ordered to gather intelligence on a particular ISIS leader & use a flash drive to steal sensitive information to pass on to the FSB. The other alleged spy confesses to having been sent to assassinate a senior ISIS commander.

Although it is unclear whether their confessions were genuine or not (the confessions were clearly made under duress), the video itself does appear to be authentic – as does its grisly end.

After extracting the confessions a burly ISIS fighter previously hidden off-screen appears in the video’s final “scene”, standing in a field behind the two kneeling suspects & delivering a speech against “disbelievers,” a Kalashnikov assault rifle slung across his shoulder. Standing next to him is a young boy with shoulder-length hair, apparently from the Caucuses. The boy, who is no more than nine or ten years old, casually brandishes a pistol.

pistol in his hand

The young child calmly holds a pistol in his hand

After quoting from the Koran, the adult terrorist adds in Russian: “Allah has gifted the Islamic State’s security agency with the apprehension of these two spies… By Allah’s grace, they are now in the custody of the lion cubs of the Caliphate.”

At that point the young boy is gently nudged forward, pistol in hand, & calmly shoots the two men repeatedly in the head.

The “lion cubs of the Caliphate” is a name given by ISIS to its child soldiers, which the Islamist terror group regularly shows off in a bid to encourage Muslim parents to indoctrinate their children to become “mujahideen”, or “holy warriors”.

Indeed, the video ends with a scene from a previous ISIS propaganda video released in November, showcasing a training camp for “the next generation” of jihadis. The same young boy features prominently in that video, telling the camera of his ambitions to grow up to “kill infidels” & identifying himself as “Abdullah” from Kazakhstan.

A recent study by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) revealed the growing use of children by ISIS both in its propaganda & in military roles, but this is the first such graphic use of a young child in a public execution.

Latest ISIS propaganda video shows execution of two alleged agents from Russian FSB spy agency – by a child no older than 10.
