"Keeping up with the times"- Glenn Hopkins returns to the west coast for a screenplay reading (debut and workshopping event).
All the World's a Stage for Venice Mootney Company's Glenn Hopkins- calling players to a screenplay read through at the Church at Ocean Park this afternoon. They are asked to ply their craft to reenact "Mrs. Roosevelt" twice and in the process capture the spirit of the Occupy movement with its unique narrative and vitality
Playwright Glenn Hopkins and The Venice Mooney Company are plying their craft today. At the rock bottom price of $2.00 and a sense of purpose and fun, founder Mr. Hopkins and crew are filling the community hall from 1-5pm, Sunday July 13th at 235 Hill Street, Santa Monica with actors, activists, and grazing potluck to read through his acclaimed "Mrs. Roosevelt"
Churches must find new ways to outreach to communities to stay vibrant and The Church in Ocean Park, Santa Monica is no different. And this reading potluck will not only feature two Eleanor Roosevelts (Carla Harary and Nadja Hoyer), Carla reading at 1pm and Nadja reading at 5pm, but expects to capture a live,open-mike round-robin of "occupy" material and the publicity flier invited guests to come prepared a minute or two of modern rhetoric to help characters (Emma/Eleanor's mentee) stay vibrant, current and interesting. Bo Lebo will read "Emma"
The play now available for group fundraising in Spanish, Farsi, Korean, Japanese, Mandarin, French, German, Italian, Portugese, and Polish –ask Mr. Hopkins for more information at 310-478-7379. For the play licensing or to inquire about the screenplay contact Mr. Hopkins directly
