A record number of individuals attended the eighth national Medicare Supplement insurance industry conference held last week at the Westin Crown Center in Kansas City.

"Over 650 Medigap industry leaders and insurance agents from around the country convened for the three day conference," reported Jesse Slome, director of the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance.  "Medicare Supplement is growing and there is heightened interest," Slome shared.  According to the organization, some 12.2 million Americans have a Medigap policy, a significant increase over prior years.

The three day event brought together experts from across industry disciplines.  "We had CEOs of Medicare Supplement insurance companies sharing their outlook for the industry as well as those individuals responsible for selling policies at the local level," Slome adds.  The record-setting attendance included insurance agents who came for a free day of sales training hosted by the organization.

Recording of sessions will be available on the Association's website shortly.  "Access for most of the regular conference sessions will be available at no charge," Slome says.  "This is our commitment to continue seeing the Medigap market grow."  Access will be available in roughly three weeks Slome estimates.

A location for the 2017 Medicare Supplement Insurance Summit is being sought by the organization and a conference committee is being organized.  For more information visit the AAMSI website at http://www.medicaresupp.org
