The FreePrintable.net family of websites now includes a site devoted entirely to illustrations of flags. FreePrintableFlags.com offers 50 printable flags for educational, cultural, and craft purposes.
"These flags are all correctly colored and proportioned according to the state or nation's actual flag," said Kevin Savetz, the site's creator. "Which makes them great for academic projects and lessons." There are also outline-only versions of the flags, for coloring. And, users to choose to download a flag labeled with the place name or without.
The national flags are mostly broken down by continent, so that North America contains the flags of the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The flags are current for each state or nation that they represent.
While the flags are mostly divided according to the continents such as the Africa, South America, Oceania, and Europe flags, there are other areas with notable flags. These include Guam, Bermuda, and the Caribbean flags.
Each of the 50 flags at FreePrintableFlags.com can be utilized in many ways. Teachers can print them out without the name of the country and use them for a memorization quiz in geography. They can also be downloaded as a simple, unfilled outline. The line art then makes for an informative art lesson. All files are free to download and print as a PDF.
"The flags are great for lessons and geography projects," said Savetz, who plans to add many more flags to the site soon. "But they're also a lot of fun for cultural celebrations and crafts."
There are more than 90 sites in the FreePrintable.net family of free printables sites created by Savetz Publishing, Inc., a company devoted to creating useful and informative web sites of interest to consumers and small businesses.
