Attract the Right Job or Clientele:  Move from Pipe Dream to Pipeline Overflow

Perhaps you took a corporate sales position only to find immense pressure on you to sell something. Corporate doesn’t care about negative reviews, recalls, or any other obstacle that may get in the way. It’s your duty to make your numbers. And entrepreneurs feel the pressure to bring in enough clients to make bill payments plus some profit in the process.

Is the profession of sales or the idea of being a successful entrepreneur a pipe dream?

The only time this may be true is when you personally give the quest only a half-hearted effort. Valid excuses may be plentiful but the added effort to try to find a way around the situation is what will make the difference in your outcome.

To move from Pipe Dream to Pipeline Overflow requires commitment and consistency

Change half-hearted attempts

Very recently I caught myself staring at the computer but could not think of an appropriate start for a proposed project. I tried to begin on three consecutive days only to realize that precious time was being wasted. It then became very clear. I ddin’t want to do wrestle with that particular work any longer.

Even more telling, I decided to resign from future commitments and provided a 30 day notice to the partners. They will be better off finding another who is more adept with their type of work, and I will be able to spend time better suited to projects on which I excel. In the long run, we will all benefit from the decision and our relationships are in tact.

Freeing

Now that the burden is lifted, I am free to select the projects that interest me most. The spirit of freedom allows for greater energy and creativity to propel new ideas and projects.

Plan Ahead

Give thought to those areas of your life where you will feel as if a burden has been lifted in order to move forward. Now create a list of projects that excite you and then prioritize the ones to pursue first. Next, prioritize the steps to be taken and milestones to be reached to keep from drifting and maintain focus on your new vision.

Review, Revise, and Persevere

These words reflect the essence of moving from pipe dream to pipeline overflow. As you embrace the new ideas and have a revised plan in place, you are ready to commit to consistent pursuit. This is the exact point when your pipeline will overflow and sales become abundant.

Looking back it will seem as if it were always a Smooth Sale!
