For the past 16 years, The Last Gadget Standing has been a mainstay for CES in Las Vegas. Hundreds of companies have launched their new products from its stage, showing off their grit, tech prowess and ability to have a little fun. Thousands of attendees have lined up to see the finalists of what can only be thought of as CES’s version of America’s Got Talent.

Unlike so many shows where the judges have the final say, The Last Gadget Standing is all about audience participation. After watching 10 live stage demos, an audience vote determines the winner.

There’s no ballot, though. The audience votes with applause. The winner is chosen via applause meters that are secretly placed around the room. Perhaps not totally scientific, but most past winners have gone on to be big commercial successes. The audience, as I like to say, always knows best.

Heading to CES Asia
This May we’re thrilled to take the show on the road as we head to CES Asia. It will be fascinating to see how the audience reacts and whether their sensibilities about the next hot product are similar to or different from those in the U.S. Whether it’s through virtual reality devices, connected car products or new display technologies, we’re seeing Asian companies drive innovation and new product development. We’ve watched CES Asia grow and garner momentum as a destination where news gets made.

The proof is already in the pudding. We’ve already had more than 40 entries from the exhibitors in Asia from companies that have new ways of creating everything from smart baby bottles to fitness gear, from binocular vision apparatus to new appliances for the smart home. Any exhibitor who’ll be showcasing at CES Asia can submit an application.

At CES 2016 in Las Vegas the winners included  Ripple Maker  and the VUZE 3D and 360° camera .  Ripple Maker uses ink-jet like nozzles to print photos on your latte foam. In their entertaining live demo, they printed the face of juror Ross Rubin, who then sipped it carefully.  The VUZE 3D and 360° camera  showed the crowd how to capture images for VR. Combining 8 HD sensors and sophisticated 3D-360 stitching software, the VUZE manages to do it all in a small form factor.

Watch the trailer and see if you have what it takes to be The Last Gadget Standing Asia.
