FaxZero.com users utilized the internet faxing website for more than just personal and professional transactions in 2014. Conscientious faxers have been sending free faxes to representatives in the U.S. House and Senate, and FaxZero is now publishing the senators and congressional members who received the most correspondence.
Representative John Boehner of Ohio (R) was the most-faxed member of the House in 2014. He had nearly four times as many faxes as the 5th place congressman, Steve Scalise of Louisiana (R). In second place was Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin (R), followed by Kevin McCarthy of California (R).
While most of the House Representatives faxed were Republicans, the majority of Senators faxed were Democrats. Senate minority leader Harry Reid of Nevada (D) was faxed the most, with nearly double the faxes as the runner-up, Patrick Leahy of Vermont (D). Other popular recipients were Senators Charles Schumer of New York (D), Barbara Boxer of California (D), and Richard Burr of North Carolina (R).
"It's important to be a part of the political landscape whenever possible, and to make your voice heard," said Kevin Savetz, the site's creator. "That's why faxing your representative is always free—so that you can start a change with just a few simple steps."
