FaxZero.com users find that the free faxing website is a convenient way to communicate with their congressional representatives. FaxZero, which never reveals users' private information, has taken note of which senators and congressional members received the most correspondence via FaxZero in 2015.
The most-faxed representative in 2015 was Tom Emmer (R, Minnesota) followed closely by Morgan Griffith (R, Virginia), Mark Meadows (R, North Carolina), and Paul Ryan (R, Wisconsin). (Ryan is the current Speaker of the House.)
Two years ago, representative John Boehner (R, Ohio) was the most-faxed member of the House. But having stepped down from his role as speaker, he was only the fifth most-faxed member of Congress in 2015. In sixth place was Democrat Denny Heck from Washington.
While the top five Congressman faxed were all Republications, those faxed in the Senate included two Republicans and three Democrats. They are: Pat Toomey (R, Pennsylvania), Dianne Feinstein (D, California), Sherrod Brown (D, Ohio), Dick Durbin (D, Illinois) and John McCain (R, Arizona). In 2014, Senate minority leader Harry Reid (D, Nevada) received the most faxes via FaxZero.
"I added the Fax Your Senator/Congressperson feature to FaxZero several years ago because it's important to participate in the political process and make your voice heard," said Kevin Savetz, who founded FaxZero in 2006. "And I made the service free, so there are no barriers to reaching out to your representatives."
