There's cause for celebration this week for FaxZero.com, a free faxing service that has now had more than 10 million free faxes sent through its online and mobile interface. FaxZero has been providing free faxes to the U.S. and Canada since 2006.
"About this time a year ago, we'd had 7.5 million faxes sent from the site," said Kevin Savetz, creator of FaxZero. "It's amazing to have more than two million faxes sent since then."
FaxZero provides a simple and efficient service: Five daily faxes of three pages each (plus a cover page) to the United States or Canada, all for free. The site allows users to upload several file types and send them together. Some of the allowed formats include DOC, PDF, XLS, and PNG files, so that documents, spreadsheets, and pictures can all be sent quickly and easily. A text box is provided to allow users the opportunity to create a cover page on the spot, although Savetz also offers free fax cover sheet designs at FreeFaxCoverSheets.net.
In addition to free faxes, FaxZero.com provides the opportunity to fax congress and state senators for free. It also offers low-cost international fax services, starting as low as $1.99 for places such as England or Mexico. A comprehensive list of countries is provided, but the prices are based entirely on the country's individual phone rates.
"Many people and businesses don't have fax machines anymore, but almost everyone has access to a computer, and some people do a lot of their correspondence over their smart phones," Savetz said. "FaxZero has a mobile interface as well as the regular website, so that faxes can be sent from anywhere."
While the basic fax service is free, there is also a premium service for users who would like to send more than three pages at a time. The premium service is $1.99 per fax, with a maximum of 25 pages (plus a cover sheet), and with priority delivery. It also removes the URL brand found on the bottom of the free fax pages.
FaxZero has grown in popularity since its inception and has been featured in U.S. News, Reuters and PC World. Savetz himself is an established expert on internet faxing and runs FaxPrices.com, an impartial guide that helps readers compare fax providers. Savetz has been offering online faxing advice since 1994 and also runs FaxAnswers.com, which answers fax questions posed by readers.
