 Backlinks are crucial to the strength and success of your blog—which is really hard to come by with the current abundance of legit ways to make money online. Practically, all forum boards have a forum signature box under the users profile section, where you can enter a short bio and backlinks pointing to your blog. You should take advantage of this since most forums have high Page Rank and high daily traffic. So you have the tendency to get a high link juice value and also some traffic along the way.

Apart from the forum signature box, you can also drop links to posts on your blog that can be of assistance or solve a fellow forum member's problem, but do not turn this into a habit so that you won't look like a spammer and eventually get banned from the forum.

Getting listed in directories is a must. Not only is this a way to get some quality backlinks for free or to be into legit ways to make money online. But also, this is a way you are easily noticed by both search engines and potential visitors. Generally inclusion in search directories is free but the drawback is that sometimes you have to wait a couple of months before you get listed in the categories of your choice.
