The Institute of Management Consultants (IMC USA) is the premier professional association and sole certifying body for management consultants in the United States. Founded in 1968, the non-profit, Washington, DC-based Institute awards the designation of Certified Management Consultant (CMC®) to those consultants who demonstrate broad competences in technical and consulting skills and behaviors, repeated client satisfaction, and written and oral ethics examinations.
IMC members adhere to a rigorous Code of Ethics and enforcement procedures. Certified Members must renew their certification every three years. IMC USA is a member of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI), which sets global standards for technical competence and professional conduct among professional consultants in its 46 member countries.
