"We Really Lost This War! Twenty-five Reasons to Legalize Drugs" is my book that documents that it is the Drug War that kills people, not the drugs. Furthermore, this is a real war. It has killed more Americans (700,000) than all our other wars combined and we are now exporting this murder -- with almost 7,000 killed in Mexico in 2008 alone. Prison also kills far more people than drugs.
This drug was is not just a failure; it's a fiasco. It's absolutely time to end this devastating and deadly war and stop the collateral damage that includes killing our children, teens and minorities, endless corruption and wasting a trillion and a half dollars. The U.S. has 5 percent of the world's population and now uses 60 percent of the world's drugs. No wonder the three ex-presidents of Mexico, Brazil and Colombia have declared the drug war lost.
The British magazine, The Economist, had a March 7,2009 cover story titled, "How to Stop the Drug Wars" and they strongly recommend legalization.
