He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Institute of Management Consultants USA (IMC USA), the 2000-member professional organization and sole certifying body for management consultants in the United States. He also holds the Certified Management Consultant (CMC®), the Gold Standard for consulting excellence. Less than 1% of all consultants have achieved this level of excellence.
He has held positions that include Chief Operating Officer for two high-tech startups; eCommerce Manager for Dell Computer; and program manager / organizational change specialist for CSC Consulting. Prior to his business career he served as a Naval Officer and Aviator, and held numerous positions in administration, operations, training, and flight safety.
He been quoted in numerous newspapers and magazines including the Wall Street Journal, CBS MoneyWatch, Fast Company, Atlanta Business Chronicle and the Christian Science Monitor, and written multiple articles on topics which include ?The Role of Values and Leadership in Organizational Transformation? and ?Using Relationships to Drive Rigor, Relevance and Results.? He has also appeared on Time-Warner Television, and has been a guest on numerous radio shows.
He holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Human and Organizational Systems from the Fielding Graduate University, and a B.S. in Physics from the U.S. Naval Academy. He is a member of faculty at the College of Business Administration at TUI University, as well as an adjunct at Central Michigan and Capella Universities, and teaches MBA and Ph.D. courses in Organization Development and Change; Leadership; Organization Theory and Design; Business Strategy and Implementation; and Management Consulting.
He resides in Fallbrook, CA, with his wife and mother-in-law. In their spare time they enjoy golf, traveling, working out, philanthropic activities, and caring for their 45 avocado trees.
