Kirk Mango is a 3-time All American gymnast and award-winning athletic educator. The book fills a critical need by speaking in a frank and direct voice to today's aspiring athletes about crucial, controversial issues athletes face today and the personal choices they must make. It also presents them with the antidote to these negative influences - the fundamental values, attitudes and concepts, both mental and practical, that support and lead to athletic excellence.

Ms. Lamont also co-authored Taking Charge of Your Stroke Recovery: A Personal Recovery Workbook, with Roger Maxwell, published in 2008 (Taking Charge Books). After suffering a massive stroke, and still disabled after insurance ran out, Roger Maxwell was able to fully recover using state-of-the art techniques and exercises he researched and applied to himself. The book makes this self-recovery method available to stroke survivors whose insurance rehab dollars have run out.
