Dr. Burch is President of Graywood Consulting Group, a Washington D.C. area consulting firm assisting businesses in improving the success and strategic effectiveness of their technology.

Dr. Burch has over 25 years of experience in the consulting field working for various Fortune 500 companies including IBM, NetApp and Computer Sciences Corporation on both commercial and government projects. Over the course of his career he has helped such clients as Toronto Dominion Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland, and Symbol Technologies, and government agencies such as Patent and Trademark Office, USDA, Department of Homeland Security, and the State of Arkansas to name a few. In addition, Dr. Burch was literally part of the Internet from the beginning as the owner of one of the first Internet Service Provider (ISP) companies in California during 1990s.

Dr. Burch is currently an adjunct professor of Business Administration and Management at Colorado State University Global Campus, teaching courses for the bachelor?s and master?s programs in Business Administration. In addition, he delivers courses nationally on the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodology to prepare candidates for the Project Management Professional certification exam. He holds a B.A. in Math / Computer Science, an M.S. in Information Systems, and a Ph.D. is in Information Technology Management. He is a certified Project Management Professional and is ITIL V3 Foundations certified.

Dr. Burch brings a unique perspective to his consulting business from a combination of his extensive background in information technology and his advanced education and research in business management. Unlike a lot of technology consultants, he understands both the technical aspects and the business requirements of the strategic use of technology in organizations.

Dr. Burch is a member of the Project Management Institute, the Academy of Management, the IT Service Management Forum, and the eLearning Institute. He has a published journal article entitled ?Critical Thinking in Project Management? and has authored several white papers including ?The Role of Information Technology Services Management in Strategic Management? and ?Techniques for Ensuring IT Project Success?. Scott originally studied music in college and still plays the piano and sings. In his younger days, he once toured Europe with an international music group. He has found that his ability to think both logically and creatively as a musician enhances his skills for helping organizations to solve the problems and challenges that they face.
